The printer arrived well within the time frame. I was expecting it much later. The printer exceeded my expectations. It has functioned just the way I wanted. Since I owned an HP Deskjet 3940, I thought that the model I purchased was going to be much slower. But, to the contraty, the D1430 has performed at the same level without any problems so far. Thank you very much for suppling my order and sending it fast.

This came for free with my computer. And I can see why they were giving it away. It is awful. It jams constantly. Every time I have a print job I have to wait for it to jam, fix it, and then try again. I am going to go buy a new one this one is so frustrating. I am so glad I did not pay for it, do yourself a favor and dont bother.

I just purchased this printer today. I needed a printer to get by until I have the money to buy a nice wireless printer. This printer is cheap, looks cheap, sounds cheap... but it prints surprisingly well. The most frustrating part of buying this printer, though, was that I had to purchase my own USB cable! Thats just ridiculous.

I like HP products the brand is often dependable and economical. I had this printer before and I cause some damage to it and just replace it with the same modle.

I bought this printer for schoolwork while at college, but it turns out to be an unreliable piece of junk. It goes through a lot of $$$ ink and it often gets jammed. I often have to pull out the paper and manually move the cartridges back. Junk. Junk. Junk.

Im a college student in my senior year and I have had this printer ever since I was a Freshman in my first semester. And I have to say that it has never failed me once in those 4 years (except once with low ink and leaving it stored up over the summer) It is small and compact which worked perfectly for me when I was in the dorms and still proves to be a positive here in my apartment on its small shelf. Being I have it stored most of the time, I never had more than about 5-10 sheets in the loading tray (no more than what I was needing to print) and have never had an issues with it jamming. As others have noted it is very easy to pack up and take somewhere if you need to travel. Much better than any of the All-in-one printers Ive seen. In my opinion, small and simple has worked perfectly for me over the past 4 years.

Each year, I travel out of state with my laptop to do my father-in-laws taxes. He does not have a working printer, so I need to bring one along. This is an excellent choice as it is light, small, and travels well. The quality of the output (for tax forms) is fine, and the ink cartridge has lasted for 3 years. A great little printer.

This printer is extremely compact and the tray even folds into the printer to transport. The print quality is excellent and the speed is good. The only problem I had is that if you load more than 7-10 sheets of paper, it is prone to jamming. So just put in 7 at a time and it will never jam. I used it when I stayed in a dorm for a month and it was perfect for my purposes. I bought it two years ago and its still working perfectly.

The HP D1430 Deskjet (inkjet) printer is an overlooked little marvel. When my printer died a few weeks ago I knew it was time to look around for another printer--and this printer was the one for people like me. Sure, its just a printer. It doesnt scan, fax or copy. But, then again, this still makes for an excellent color inkjet printer for young students or anyone like me who is on a budget. There are preliminary instructions that make the initial setup and unpacking of the printer a snap. After that, the setup was still very easy--once I remembered to temporarily disable my firewall and my antivirus software! The printer comes with a CD that has all the software youll need to install and connect this computer to the rest of your PC system. It works with Macintosh computers, too. Just insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive and its practically effortless after that. Youll get a color printer cartridge with the box and a power supply cable; but if yours comes like mine youll still need a USB cable (you may try to use an old one lying around to save a little money first) and you will also need a black ink cartridge. Why HP only gives you a color starter ink cartridge and not a black starter cartridge Ill never know. Good thing I bought a two pack of cartridges at the store before I returned home! The printer takes up very little space; and it prints very, very well in both complex colors and plain old black and white. It can print photos as well if you install the CD that enables the printer to print photos. It also comes with extra CDs that let you make greeting cards and practice your typing skills. Thats a good value! I highly recommend this printer; according to the store manager very few, if any, customers of his ever bring them back for a refund. This printer is best suited for people who just want a value oriented basic, easy to operate color inkjet printer that can still print photos without any major bells or whistles.
