Works as advertised. Saves AHs as it draws very little from boat batteries. And it is bright.

I purchased for a replacement to Masthead lamp on top of our sailboat. It puts out a lot of light is not sensitive to polarity- i.e. works with plus and minus polarity hooked up in both directions. If it lasts a long time it will be a good investment.

It burned out 1st night on my boat, using 24v. Now I have to go up my 20m/60ft mast just to replace it. (I specifically bought this to replace a 12v version I had). Information says 10-30v but that seems totally wrong :(

This bulb perfectly replaces the incandescent bulb in my Aqua Signal 41 steaming light. It works with lights plastic socket. It has a negative and a positive contact on the bottom. It has offset locking pins to control polarity. It is well made and unlike the photo in the listing it has a clear plastic shell around it protecting the LEDs. There were not any blobs of solder affecting my installing the bulb into the socket. I have included a photo of this bulb next to the original incandescent bulb. I have used it 12 hours as of this review.

Works great but the manufacturing has a minor defect. The solder points were too thick around the bulb circular sleeve. It would not allow me to push the bulbs in deep enough into the housing socket, and therefore I was not able to twist slightly so it can snap into the final seating position. I had to take a solder gun and remove excess solders around the brim of the bulb. Once done, they seated fine. I had to do this to all 6 bulbs I had ordered. I had used them to replace all the old incandescent lights on my boat exterior markers and running lights. After 6+ months, none of these LED has failed from exposure and vibration. Which is pretty good as the locations where these bulbs are installed are very difficult to reach while the boat is in the water.

The thing physically fits into the aqua signal series 40, and right now it works when I turn it on, but it does not quite fit as it should. I had to spend about an hour placing and twisting and moving it to try to get it in perfectly and it cannot be fit in perfectly. I was able to get it to a position that it turns on every time I power it, but I am definitely concerned that underway in heavy seas it may easily shift and lose power. I dont want to solder it in place to make sure I dont lose it because then it will not be serviceable if the LEDs burn out, but I may have to just havnt made my mind up. It does however save the wattage I needed to save and at the moment is working as intended or it would be a 1 star. If they just made the size fit the aqua signal series 40, it would be a 5.

I don’t have great hopes for the longevity of this $10 bulb. Two of the 3 led columns were loose and only worked if you squeezed the bulb. It still put out a adequate amount of light, brighter than the stock bulb. Sadly I didn’t discover this until well after the 30 day return period. Look elsewhere for a led solution.
