I only used it for finding a short circuit. There were 20 recessed LED light fixtures embedded in concrete and this instrument found a shorted conductor. It would have taken hours to find the short if I didn’t have this instrument. It took about 10 minutes to find the short circuit.

I bought this to chase wires in a home done wrong,It worked beyond what I thought it could do, chased 12/2 from outside finished garage through house to back wall 50 ft. walking good 80 ft. of wire (why put these switches here, I thought it was a joke at first) worked through 5/8 drywall no problem, circuit was dead so I jump the neutral from a cord with the attachment

My most favorite electrical tool ever purchased. Easy to use, makes chasing down single outlets on 3pole commercial circuits fast and accurate. Currently updating as-builds in a commercial building and this tool has saved hundreds of man hours trying to chase down over 30 panels. I wish I would have bought it sooner. One thing to note, it eats batteries so make sure you have plenty on hand while working with the unit.

This is the most accurate tracer Ive ever used. Well worth the price. Read the instructions and use as directed. It works.
