I fiddled with it until figuring out that an open to the left (opposite of the picture here) on the left wall (only wall in this bathroom) meant that tearing the paper would pull the roll *toward* the base meaning the roll doesnt fly off. Edited: Just came back and bought another for bathroom #2. The first is perfect, holding up well, sturdy and looks really nice. So glad theyre still offering these.
