> 3 dayI love the function and value. But it’s not compatible with any of my Home Kit. It’s probably thus less private and secure. Also, doesn’t work with IFTTT. Please either add HomeKit or improve the Geeni app.

> 3 dayWe have a few rooms in our old house that isnt heated well with the home central heater so we are forced to keep an old school oil-filled electric heater to keep that room heated during the winter. The problem is that we have often forgotten to turn it off when its not being used. Thats where this smart switch is ideal. Not just because I can control the switch, but I can also monitor its energy usage. Im not a big fan of all the different apps that every different manufacturer uses, but with the added functionality of the energy monitor, I was willing to install and use an additional app. For day to day operation, it works great with Alexa and I really only use the Greeni app to track the energy usage. The app gives you real time info for the devices energy consumption for current (mAmps), Power (watts), voltage, and total (KWh). In addition to that, it also breaks it down into power usage daily and monthly. I think this can be very useful for knowing where all your your energy dollars are going. That is the differentiating factor with this smart switch, the energy monitoring feature. While its not necessary for all appliances, I do like having it especially for heaters, fans and even air purifiers. Keep in mind this doesnt work so well for newer devices that use newer touch controls and you dont have physical buttons that can remain on even after power is cut from the unit. For me, I was specifically looking for something I can use to control heating and cooling devices for that remote room and this switch works great.

> 3 dayAbout a year later, I am updating my review from 3 to 4 stars. I did originally purchase these with the expectation that they would work with my iHome app and they didnt, which disappointed me. However, I did keep these plugs and they have been working great. I even purchased two more recently to have more available smart plugs in the house. I love that I can set schedules for the plug to turn on and off and turn the plug on and off with my phone app. The entire reason I chose these is because I already have an iHome plug & the iHome app and I didnt want to have to download another app. These plugs are not compatible with the iHome app. You will be forced to download another random app to use them. However, separate from the app frustration, the plugs have been working just fine.
