10-06-2025I have had an opportunity to use the sanding drums a few times now and can say the quality is really quite good. The Dremel brand drums last a bit longer, but are much more expensive. I prefer the mandrels in this kit to the Dremel parts. I find it easier to get a snug fit, and they allow the use of a small (.5?) Phillips screwdriver. A really good value, would buy again.

Greater than one weekGetting into full gear for crafting season and this was an excellent buy! Lucky enough to catch it on sale. I think the original packaging could have been less, but I have no real complaints.

> 3 daySorry for being a little over dramatic but the 3/4 diameter mandrel is not designed for high speed dremels. Or not the ones that I received. The two that I received bent 90 degrees in my dremel tool without ever applying them on to my project. It was a good thing that they didnt snap off or slip off and hit me in the face or gouge a piece of plastic off my project and sent it flying. It was also a good thing that I had a firm grip on the dremel because the dremel could have fell out of my hands. I have used the smaller 1/4 & 3/8 mandrels without any issue. Im afraid to use the 1/2 ones. FYI: The Dremel brand aluminum oxide sanding drums last longer than this brand. Its worth spending a little more to get longer lasting sanding drums. The seller claims Outstanding value & quality - turn your Dremel or other rotary tool into versatile high-speed sander. This is not true for the set I received. EDIT (Nov 2, 2012) The seller contacted me and offered a refund or replacement. I opted for the replacement of the 3/4 diameter mandrels. I wont use these larger mandrels on a high speed dremel, but I will say they work fine on a drill press (lower speeds) and I guess on a dremel where you can adjust the speed. The seller has my respect for doing the right thing and replacing the damaged items.

> 3 dayAll the parts shown in the picture showed up when I ordered! Thats the end of the good news. The rest is all bad. Unless you are using this for VERY light use (apparently according to others this works on dog claws) DO NOT buy this. After only a few minutes of use the rubber on the mandrel gets warm soft and starts falling off - I started with the smallest one. Then I switched to the medium size thinking this would be better, it wasnt. This time the sanding drum broke apart and flew off the mandrel - this happened three times - on medium speed! I finished my job with my large DREMEL brand mandrel. I KNOW this kit is cheap and I should not have expected much but I guess I was hopeful, after all, it had 4 stars. Why? To top off my experience the next day I decide I should send this back but too bad for me I waited until then to find out returns arent accepted. Good idea on the sellers part as they know most of these would come back. Did I mention that you SHOULD NOT buy this product?

> 3 dayGood set, cheapest Ive seen on Amazon, The mandrels are good quality, the sanding drums are OK, at roughly .13 cents a pop should get some good use out of them.

Greater than one weekI purchased this sanding kit to help sand and refinished some detailed and hard-to-reach sections of antique woodwork. These sanders worked PERFECTLY for hard to reach areas, and allowed me to get a really detailed, delicate and almost artistic touch on what I was refinishing. At first, I was a bit worried about damage to my woodwork, but these sanding drums were easy to maneuver, and allowed gentle and easily-controllable sanding in a way that a solid, hand-held piece of sandpaper just cant. One thing to note is that each sandpaper drum doesnt last indefinitely... Each drum lasted approximately 10 - 15 minutes of constant use, before it was time to replace with a fresh sanding drum. The only reason Im not giving this product five stars is because it is a bit of a challenge to get each of the drums onto the attachment that fits into the Dremel tool, which can be a bit frustrating. Also, I found that the rubber head on the Dremel attachment piece (which you mount the sandpaper drum on) had a tendency to get worn or come undone, meaning it was time to move onto a new attachment head. All in all, though, a nice specialized solution to detailed sanding needs!

> 3 daythese came at a good price, my only complaint is that when using the smallest size I had to add a layer of paper around the mandrel in order to get it adequately tight to hold the sanding drum during use. Other than that, they work as they should.

> 3 dayBought these initially for sanding down our dogs nails with a Dremel. Theyll have nothing to do with it. So I use them to keep my fingernails in check. They seem to last for quite a while. Then again, I dont know how they would work on wood.
