ILok iLok 3-3rd Generation Authorisation Key USB Dongle - USB-C Edition

I bought an MPC X and loaded the software in my decade old custom iMac. They released version 2.10 which forced me to buy a new iMac in order to use the MPC to its full potential. It eventually came to a point where I couldn’t even run the software at all and could only use the MPC in standalone mode. I figured that I needed to buy this dongle in order to be able to use the MPC again. I migrated my old iMac to my new one using Time Machine. Bought the iLok dongle and plugged it in. Was actually able to deploy the License Manager to transfer rights to my new iMac. This took lots of figuring out, through vigorous searches online, trying to comb through forums, etc… but all is great now that I’ve successfully got my MPC X up and running again.

It was delivered quickly and I loaded all my audio licenses on it very quickly. I am able to do serious audio work on my laptop at home and for when I travel. Its size is much smaller than the first generation, so I put it on a key chain so I wont misplace it.

I reinstall my OS more often than most... Because of this some app vendors get tired of constantly reactivating their software and some even ask you to buy additional licenses. This gets the licenses off my PC and onto a device that will work anywhere. It was very easy to just drag and drop my licenses to this device in the ILOK software and it saved me tons of $ in the long run. 50 bucks is a lot of money but I have over 100 licenses so this made a lot of sense. I can use may apps now wherever they are installed. Kudos for coming up with this product!

Just what I needed

Title clearly says USB-C. I was sent the USB-A version. Now I have to return it. Waste of my time. Should have used Sweetwater instead, which I will from now on.

Buena compra.

The item arrived was a 2nd generation device that only connects to USB-A port. I thought it was a shipping mistake and requested a replacement. Here came again with the same stick with no USB-C port. If you buy a 2nd gen device, you shouldnt end up paying this price.

Like it says in the title, the product works as intended, but I am not happy that this stupid dongle is just one more thing taking up precious IO on my laptop.
