05-06-2025I got it for some peripheral accessories installation on a boat on an entirely separate circuit, ran this through a starter relay to a fuse box. Its been running everything so far without issue on a 12 run to the battery. Easy to work with, flexible, really nice jacket and just the right size strands.

Greater than one weekI absolutely love this wire. Its a nice transparent red sleeve and so easy to work with. The black looks black from a distance but its actually a deep transparent brown cover. Still love the stuff though.

> 3 dayOne reviewer said it does not look like #8 wire. Some stranded wire that is called #8 has less copper in it because of the air spaces between the fine strands. So I took a 5.40 cm length of this wire, stripped the insulation, weighed it on a calibrated scale (3.89 g), and then calculated the volume of copper present in the sample (0.435 cm3). I then calculated the area of a cylinder of solid copper having this volume (8.06 mm2). A wire table shows that a #8 solid conductor has a cross sectional area of 8.37 mm2, so this wire has almost as much copper as a #8 solid wire. Still it is much better than a #9 and far, far better than #10.
