I am coming from an i5 7600. This is the first CPU I have ever bought (it was actually bought at a Best Buy)that was a K version. This CPU has a massive increase in performance at 4.7Ghz (will do 5.0, but doesnt make it through Prime95) compared the 7600 at 3.9Ghz turbo. Maybe it has to do with my hyper 212 Evo. While the Evo has been a viable option for many years, Its probably starting to hit its limit in terms of keeping a CPU satisfactorily cool since core counts are increasing (I know CPUs are very efficient today in heat output compared to a top tier Pentium 4 which had a maximum clock of 3.73Ghz I think) and stock speeds of many CPUs are at or above 4 Ghz before overclocking. The only downside is that it was required to purchase a motherboard (also from Best Buy) with a Z390 chipset. The board that the 7600 was on had a Z270 chipset. When it comes to single-core performance, Minecraft is a great game to test that on. Buy one. Seriously, do it!
