> 3 dayI have two HEDT computer builds, one is the 5930 K with 1080 SLI and now an 8700 K with two 1080 TI’s. It’s pretty funny because the 5930 K can keep up and hold it own pretty much to the 8700 K. I did try to go with Amd In the end I guess I’m an Intel fanboy, because Intel just puts out amazing central processing units and I will always be building Intel from now on. I do wish AMD’s X3 99 chipset wasn’t such a huge mess it’s starting to get better but in the end I’m staying with Intel and this processor is freaking amazing especially for overclocking.

10-06-2025Great but think about spending 100$ and get the 8700k to overclock

> 3 dayI built my computer for office work and possible future gaming/Tv. I have not pushed this core to its limits but for multiple programs open, it has worked very well. Locking it in was easy and came with a fan.

> 3 dayI agonized over which processor to buy. Ultimately, I chose the i7 8700 since I didnt really want to mess around with overclocking. While I always think I will, I never do so I just gave up and bought this processor. I have been very pleased with it. I dont have to worry about heat and it works like a dream on my new ASUS TUF motherboard. ITs a great combination and I an very pleased with it.

> 3 dayI love this processor, Great upgrade from my still capable 2700K. I would recommend this part to anyone in the market for a new build.
