Ordered this for my nephew who always likes to run away. The bag is fun, cute and friendly so he is excited to wear it. I love that I can hold on to him and make sure he doesn’t go to far when picking him up from the bus stop. I love that the wrist link can be detached for when he’s older or isn’t outside. The bag is durable and reasonably sized for a kid his age.

This JIANBAO Penguin Toddler Backpacks with Leashes is a great way to keep your toddler from running off to try and join other families. We use it for our 17 month old when going places where she cannot have free reign to run wherever she wants. Overall, it has been great and there are some smart safety features such as the key that locks the toddler wrist buckle (if you were to use that). Our biggest complaint is the stitching on the parents arm loop. It doesnt go all the way over to the edge and leaves a little tab that gets caught in the strap adjuster (see attached pictures). We finally just superglued this piece down to keep it from catching in the strap adjuster. This seems like a design oversight and something that was annoying until we fixed it. This is the only thing keeping this from being a five star product.

This is simply a fabulously adorable toddler penguin backpack. It’s targeted toward the very young child from 1.5 years to 3. Tucked inside this mini-backpack were the leash and linked wristbands. There’s plenty of room to carry a small blanket or favorite toy once the backpack is empty. The backpack is made of polyester and nylon, a particularly durable combo. It’s not however, water-resistant. I did pour a bit of water on it and it absorbed into the fabric. I always check out the hardware on any diaper bag or backpack. What I see on the outside lets me know how well it will hold up. The zipper and zipper pull is metal as is the front D-ring and the snaps on the back. The buckle and sliders on the back are made of impact-resistant plastic. The zippers glide quite well and there’s no need to add graphite to get them going. This backpack should hold up very well as I’m seeing some very high-quality hardware and materials. The leash has a metal carabiner-like swivel that attaches to that metal D-ring. The wristbands are beautifully designed and crafted. They are foam lined and also have impact-resistant hardware. It also had a swivel similar to the leash. It’s designed for quick release and has a small plastic key on the parent / caretaker’s wristband. I do love the silicone penguin on the child’s wristband. More like fun jewelry than anything. I love everything about this little penguin backpack. The wristband ensures a child will remain safe during an excursion. I had a runner and darter and most certainly could have used this. The quality is very high and the design is perfect. The price at around $22 is quite reasonable given the quality and what you’re getting. I’d highly recommend this wide-eyed owl to anyone looking for a toddler backpack and peace of mind.

Esta muy linda, el material se ve resistente,le cabe sólo un par de cositas (un vasito y un snack) y las correas tienen muy tamaño, son larguitas.

It’s made very well... the backpack and the wrist link. It’s so cute. I would recommend for younger kids under 2. It’s very small. Too small for my liking. I also don’t like that the wrist link isn’t the same color as the bag. Easy to attach the leash and wrist link. Easy to use.

Love this backpack! Versatile, can swap parts out to use different ways or remove so its just a normal backpack. My 2 year old loves to wear it, and weve only used it a few times but its very useful in big, crowded areas where she tends to wander off. Perfect size - not too big like some others, looks adorable on her too!!!

    Greater than one week

I have to admit that I always thought these things were absolutely absurd until I had kids. Especially once one has multiple little ones and tries to take them out, sometimes they seem to scatter like cats. After hearing multiple horrible stories on the news I felt like having one of these little backpacks was not only functional but they could also double as a little backpack for them to play with. What I ended up doing was introducing the backpack more as a fun treat. We stuffed it with toys to play with at home before we went out. This way it was familiar. This introduction helped my little feel comfortable wearing the backpack. The backpack fits on just like any normal backpack with straps. It has a clasp in the front that locks. It’s easy to unclip but it’s not easy for a little hand to unclip so they do need help. Of course, that is the purpose. On the bottom of the penguin there is a silver D ring. That’s where the lead or leash can attach. The lead is a strong coil that has a metal material inside but it’s covered by soft plastic. The adult portion of the strap has Velcro and easily adjusts. It’s soft on the inside and does not rub. The fit is more appropriate for my wife’s wrist than mine. Large wrists can hold instead. Also on the adult bracelet is a tiny plastic key. The key is to use not for the backpack but if the leash type apparatus is connected to wrist to wrist. The plastic key locks and unlocks so that the clip cannot be undone without it. The child’s bracelet has a little penguin that matches the backpack. So, technically the set has two ways to use it. The parent can be attached directly to the little on their wrist or to the backpack. It’s just one more extra safety precaution and with a little backpack and a decorative bracelet. The backpack itself is a little penguin and has a soft material. While I commented on the coil lead being used, there’s also a soft nylon type leash that can be used. The black nylon one matches the penguin but does not attach to the parents wrist except for the parent holding it. The spring type coil does have plenty of give and can stretch quite large. The main difference in using the two is going to be whether or not the parent once to just be able to grab the black lead or to have it attached to themselves. This little bag offers a lot of versatility. There are multiple safety features and options for both a parent and child. Every parent and child is obviously different but for us, in busy areas where a little extra security is preferable it is nice to have and this penguin delivers.

I love the backpack! My daughter looks so cute with it on and I love that it clips on the front. It gives her the freedom she wants/needs while allowing us to keep her close!
