It cost a lot, but it is necessary ti keep a Jura running well.

Ive had my Jura S8 for nearly ten years and had another Jura for five years prior. Ive opted for the filters route rather than no filter/descale. To be honest, we go through the filters often enough that I wont change them when told, at least not right away. After all, I use water already filtered through our fridge filter so it seemed like overkill to change them every couple months. In the time Ive had our machines, Ive sent them to Jura a couple times for servicing and it looked like we were due. The coffee was flowing very slowly and my usual tricks werent working. As a last ditch, I got the descaling tablets and had to trick the machine into even allowing me to descale -- I had to turn off the filter function and then run the descale. Skeptical, I did it and VOILA! the coffee flowed as it should immediately after. It occurred to me that because I didnt change the filter as often as I should, after years of this, I developed calcification albeit at a slower rate! It made complete sense although I think its a failing in the directions. You should be allowed to descale, even if Filter is set to On. And, as a good practice, one would think descaling on a less frequent schedule would make sense. Thats what Ill do from now on. Note: my S8 directions said to use two square tablets and this comes in packs of 3x3. So for me, this pack of nine will get me 4 1/2 descalings.

Recommended for my machine. This appears to do the job. I wont use any other brand of tablets for my machine.

Item arrived as described. Unfortunately instructions are not included by the manufacturer on this package. After watching some YouTubes of decalcificating Jura machines you learn really quick that you need three tablets to run the cycle with. So in retrospect the package gives you three decalcification cycles.
