K-Edge Gravity Cap Garmin Mount (Black)

Unimpressed. I have a 50mm stem, so needed to mount a Garmin either to bars or top cap on my mountain bike. Turns out, mounting a Garmin on your top cap is just a bad idea. My Garmin came off 3 times during a 4 hour ride, mostly from small stumbles where my knee came up and knocked the unit into the unlock position. Seems like a matter of time before I lose it.

Fits fine on my Whyte stem. Been subjected to a few good two day bike packing trips and a number of downhill day trips.

This is the best solution for a Garmin on a MTB, its secure. I cant imagine losing it or breaking it and you can easily see it!

Similaf to other reviews . I found the plastic spring tabs that secure the Garmin to the mount to be a little on the weak side with my 1030 edge. However my 520 edge locked in pretty good. To remedy this I put thin pieces of foam (1/16 or maybe less thickness), behind the tabs. This forces the tabs up, and helps lock the Garmin in better. The other thing I did was enlarged the hole just enough to get my Allen wrench in while the plastic insert was installed. Makes it a lot easier to line up the mount so it is square with bars. Worked great. Did a fairly rough ride, and 1030 edge never moved.
