> 3 dayThis is the second KH game I have played, the first being 365/2 days. I was relieved that I didnt have to know much of the story to get into it (So confused with 365/2 days). I loved the story and the battle arena you could visit, and the worlds had a decent size map. I enjoyed playing with the different characters it gave some variety. The big con for me would be some of the mini games which some are mandatory to complete or to get 100 % completion for the game overall. I would recommend to anyone, and now Im going back to play the first KH so I can understand more!

> 3 dayWhat more is there to say? Its Kingdom Hearts! Im unhappy that Square Enix keeps doing small projects for the series instead of working on the third game itself but this is a great prequel to the series and is filled with adorable, heart-wrenching moments Kingdom Hearts has always been known for. Worth playing so do it!

> 3 dayBeing a long-time fan of the Kingdom Hearts franchise, I was so excited to play the first and only PSP title of the series. After all, many of us have indubitably complained of the lack of game localization in much of the Japanese RPG genre, and Square Enix made the smart decision to localize this game. It is fantastic. First off, the graphics in the this game are wonderful. By utilizing more of the battery life, this games graphics can become higher quality with 32-bit that gives the appearance of a colorful 3D storybook. All the characters faces are focused, and not just a blurring blend of pixels. The cut-scene animations are beautiful and appealing to those who appreciate a dazzling game. Second, the music is very good. I have long loved the Kingdom Hearts music scores and this one does not disappoint. Aside from the classic soundtracks like Dearly Beloved, there is a hoard of new music that fits the scenery and environment very well. There is also a minigame in the story, Ice Cream Beat, that allows players to play a rhythm game with a few of the popular KH tracks from the previous games. The story is also very interesting, and having a 3-character story makes for hours of playing from each characters perspective as they travel through the worlds at different times and meet different in-game characters. As a prequel for Kingdom Hearts, players can also see young Sora, Riku, and Kairi, as well as a few of the Organization XIII members before they became Nobodies. Birth By Sleep might be confusing to some, especially in that the true ending involves a very hard boss and the ending ties straight to the ending of KHII, which leaves the resolution unclear for KHIII to resolve (KH: Dream Drop Distance mentions the protagonists of BBS somewhat). Regardless of whether the entire story of KH can be fully comprehended, the tales in this game are quite clear and will not leave any players in confusion. My final words verdict: If you have a PSP, this is one game you must have. Even if you dont have a PSP, I encourage buying one just to enjoy the delights of Birth By Sleep. Though be warned, Birth by Sleep will ensnare you, force you to forgo sleep and play for hours to try to unlock every achievement in the game, fuse and level-up moves, and beat the very challenging final bosses.

Greater than one weekKingdom Hearts is one of my favorite series of all time. This game is no different than the others. I was impressed at how the game is quite seamless in its controls as a result of having less buttons to press. Great Story and the graphics look great. The game play is impressive. Lastly the storyline is great. My only reservation about the game is that it seems too short and a bit repetitive based on how the game is set up (3 playable characters with intertwined stories). Overall I would give this game a 9.5/10.

> 3 dayI have to admit, I am a die-hard KH fan, but to tell you the truth, I am getting tired of all of these side-story games. I have played every game released in the United States and so I know the whole story. Out of all of the side story games (Chain of Memories, RE:chain of Memories, Coded, 358/2 Days), I think it is second. 358/2 Days is still my favorite. But the storyline is pretty good. The graphics are superb, but personally, I expected better gameplay. It was mixing 358/2 days with the original games. It was good they were trying something different... but I wanted to have some more... KH1/KH2 parts since the game was for PSP, not for the DS or GBA. The controls were sometimes a little hard to handle, but thats coming from someone who rarely plays the PSP. I am more of a nintendo person. XP But yeah, I got it fast and for cheaper than in the stores (about 33% less) through Amazon. A great KH game, and I hope they finally get to making KH3! XD

> 3 dayThis is the next installment in the Kingdom Hearts Series... Or I should say, this is the First Installment in the Kingdom Hearts Series. Like all the past series, you travel between Disney-Created Worlds and Stories, helping the story out so that the ending we all know comes true. No surprise there. Not like Disney would actually let someone else rewrite the story for Sleeping Beauty and have Maleficent kill or otherwise imprison for all eternity, Prince Phillip. But this one is different in many aspects from some of the past games. First of all, remember the horrible Deck of Cards system back from Chain of Memories. Well, this game uses something like it, but BETTER. How? Well... you have a list of abilities and a set number of Command Slots. Usually one ability takes up one Slot, but some of the bigger and more powerful abilities can take up 2 or 3 slots. Now, instead of using the ability and its gone unless you have multiples in your Deck like Chain of Memories did. When you use the ability, it gets put on a Cool-Down Timer. and you have to wait for the ability to cool-down before you can use it again. This also removed MP or Magic/Mana Points from the game. Since ALL abilities, (Fire, Fira, Firaga, etc.) use this same method. You just have to unlock the more powerful spells and insert them into your Command List. Also, Kingdom Hearts 2 gave us the Limit-Breaks. In Birth By Sleep, theyre BACK! Remember how in KH2 you unlocked certain limit-breaks by using certain abilities in a row. Same deal here. However, it goes more in depth. For example, if you use nothing but Fire-Based attacks, you wont unlock the Fire-Breaker. You also have to utilize some Attacking Abilities (Rush, Blitz, etc.). But if you use Thunder-based attacks you get the Thunder-Break, and if you use both Fire and thunder you get the Spell-Breaker. To complicate things even more, there are ways to unlock a Limit-Breaker, for a Limit-Breaker! It gets pretty in-depth. Unlike most of the previous games, I think someone finally listened to the fans. Goofy and Donald are obnoxious and out-right not wanted (At least in my opinion), and in any case... They are NOT in your party! They do make a small appearance in the game, but you have little to no interaction with them. What does this mean, it means that throughout this game you are playing a SOLO character. Every now and then you get a partner, but they are usually essential when trying to get through that area of the game, but for the most part your solo. Thank GOD~! Ok... now, the last thing I want to talk about in this game is the Command Board. This is ONE of the few small mini-games that can be played in the game. But unlike the other mini-games, this one has the highest potential for abuse of a PSP. Remember Mario Party? Yeah, thats the first impression youre gonna get when you look at this. Thankfully someone was smart and decided that the mini-game bull crap was not needed. In case you dont follow, heres a painted picture. You have a board made out of blocks. You and up to 2 other people occupy this board. You hit a floating die above your head and it rolls a number from 1-6 and you move that many spaces. When you stop on a space, if it is Vacant you can purchase the spot. If it is owned by an opponent, you pay them rent. But if it is already owned by you, you can upgrade the spot so it costs more. (Hmm... sounds like Monopoly now~) It gets better, If after youve paid Rent on an Opponents square, and you have 10x the rent amount, you are given the opportunity to purchase said square from your opponent! As you travel around this board there are 4 waypoints that you must crossover, and then return back to start. As you cross the waypoints youll receive more money, with start giving you an added bonus on top of the normal Waypoint average. There are several boards and each one does something unique to it. Now why would this be abused. Well, simply put. The Abilities that you use in combat level up individually until a certain level when they become Maxed. By using the Command Board you can Max Out a TON of your abilities in one 5-10 minute sitting. Overall, The story is split up into 3 different Viewpoints. Kinda-like the movie Vantage Point. You play through the game as one of three different characters. Once chosen you cant switch to another character until you have played that persons story-line all the way through. Which is kinda cool. Cause on your first time through you interact with characters who might have met one of the other 2 already and theres a conversation about it. And its just enough to let you know that they were there, but not enough to tell you what they did. So you end up playing the game 3 full times, all the way through to see each persons storyline. Which is one hell-of-a-way for Square-Enix to get you on the Replay value of the game. In short, if you enjoyed any of the previous Kingdom Hearts installments. I am willing to bet you will enjoy Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep. Its worth it!

> 3 dayAnother great game from the Kingdom Hearts series. The graphics were gorgeous and controls were pretty easy to use. Only complaint is the lock on function and switching it to different enemies. Was a bit hard to work that and I would lock onto a crate/barrel over enemies sometimes. One of the better handheld KH games.
