Without going into a lot of detail, the game is awesome and my one complaint is that I cant change the difficulty level as I should have picked a harder one then Normal which is ideal for the casual gamer. The fights are very easy for me, but thats not the games fault, after reading instructions I found out Normal is ideal for what they call the casual gamer. I disagree with that as I would say I am a casual gamer. The best way to judge for yourself is ask, have you played any of the Kingdom Hearts games and found the trash mobs easy? If yes, normal will be a breeze. Also, have you sliced through any God of War titles with ease as well? If so, same thing, dont do Normal. The game is extremely fun, the changes in game play and combat are great, I esp like the way you can get different finishing moves and graphics based on the over all way you fight /cast spells. The stories are cool, the characters are cool, the graphics are VERY nice and amazingly there is an option to install the game onto your memory card to speed up load times! Additionally, there is also a setting in the menu for graphic acceleration!!! The game suggests using the wall charger for game play in this mode but I only loose about 1 bar per hour on mine!

I have to admit, I am a die-hard KH fan, but to tell you the truth, I am getting tired of all of these side-story games. I have played every game released in the United States and so I know the whole story. Out of all of the side story games (Chain of Memories, RE:chain of Memories, Coded, 358/2 Days), I think it is second. 358/2 Days is still my favorite. But the storyline is pretty good. The graphics are superb, but personally, I expected better gameplay. It was mixing 358/2 days with the original games. It was good they were trying something different... but I wanted to have some more... KH1/KH2 parts since the game was for PSP, not for the DS or GBA. The controls were sometimes a little hard to handle, but thats coming from someone who rarely plays the PSP. I am more of a nintendo person. XP But yeah, I got it fast and for cheaper than in the stores (about 33% less) through Amazon. A great KH game, and I hope they finally get to making KH3! XD

This is the second KH game I have played, the first being 365/2 days. I was relieved that I didnt have to know much of the story to get into it (So confused with 365/2 days). I loved the story and the battle arena you could visit, and the worlds had a decent size map. I enjoyed playing with the different characters it gave some variety. The big con for me would be some of the mini games which some are mandatory to complete or to get 100 % completion for the game overall. I would recommend to anyone, and now Im going back to play the first KH so I can understand more!

If you loved the Kingdom Hearts series you will definitely love this game. It has all the features you would expect from the PS2 versions of the game plus much more. I felt that the first Kingdom Hearts was lacking when it came to game-play, but that all changed with Kingdom Hearts 2. Birth by Sleep only enhances what already worked by adding a more robust level up system and putting the PSP to work with its fast paced action. If you loved the Kingdom Hearts games for the PS2 and are sick of waiting for Kingdom Hearts 3 then this game is more then enough to soothe that pain.

I hope you are patient enough to sit through the load times. There are sections where you can watch a cut scene, move a step or two, then wait...and wait...and wait (sometimes as long as 35 seconds, Ive time it). I agree with other reviews that the graphics are beautiful, the story is good, the concept of playing through the game as three characters is intriguing. When I play a game, I want to play the game, not sit through grueling load times. I understand that with such well defined and detailed graphics that it is going to take time to load the next scene, but I really just want to get on with it and play.

A great prequel to the series. At first I thought the series was kind of lame in terms of story, although the game play was fun. After extensively playing birth by sleep, I felt like the story is very in depth and the characters and their relationships (including KH 1 and 2) are fun to watch unfold. I always thought the idea of their hearts were lame and childish but now I can see a deeper meaning and how it relates more to the overall story. Maybe its my own meaning I put onto the game but nevertheless I enjoy and cant wait until the next release to fill in the pieces.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep just might be the best-playing game in the entire series so far. It takes the fluid, dynamic battle system from Kingdom Hearts II and layers on top of it an ability system that is wholly borrowed from Crisis Core: FFVII. Beating up Heartless with a Keyblade has never been more pleasurable: the game just FEELS good. The overarching narrative, told through three independent-but-intertwining campaigns (shout out to Suikoden III!), offers some superb backstory for the original trilogy and creates a trio of protagonists who have compelling arcs in which you want to invest. On the downside, however, the integration of these original stories with the Disney narratives upon which theyre superimposed is just about the flimsiest in the whole series--one WANTS to care about the Disney worlds, but one has to try really, really hard to even come close. If youre even a smidge invested in the Kingdom Hearts mythos, this game is enormously rewarding (though most of your narrative payoff will come at the end of each of the campaigns). If you like a good action game with lots of fun, varied abilities, this game will please you through and through (and you can feel comfortable skipping the cutscenes). If neither of the above applies to you, you probably ought to look elsewhere.

Like a lot of people I was skeptical when I bought my first Kingdom Hearts game. I mean come on!! An RPG set in Disney movie worlds? How can you pull that off? Well, Square did pull it off and Kingdom Hearts is now one of my favourite series. Birth By Sleep is a very good prequel. Is it the best of the series? I dont know, honestly all of the Playstation games are very good.... Either way this one does hold its own against its bigger brothers on the PS2, and that is saying a lot, especially for a portable. Yes, it does suffer from some of the flaws that come with being a portable game. The worlds, for the most part, dont seem as big and as detailed as the PS2 games, but you should expect that given the platform. Sometimes its hard to see what you are doing and you just end up mashing buttons to kill your enemies. Also, for whatever reason there is very little of Final Fantasy in this game. Only a few characters make a few quick appearances, which to me is a big loss. Part of the magic of these games is the merger between FF and Disney...... And you wont be fighting along side Goofy or Donald Duck in this game, but honestly, that wasnt a big loss for me as I found them to be a bit annoying....... Some people complain that Kingdom Hearts is too easy..... but guess what? This game is also meant for younger gamers so yes the normal setting is very easy. If you are an experienced gamer, crank up the difficulty level and enjoy. Each story line is a bit short (about 10 hours if you dont spend time levelling up) but they are fun and you do get three unique story lines, all of them pretty good. Some of the voice acting is weak, but it doesnt detract from the overall experience(specifically portions of Terras line, and a few of the Disney characters need some work).

Nothing special but not too bad either. Just the endless repeating is kinda boring and the side-quests are not that great. Story was rather hollow and uninteresting but it was ok at times, i enjoyed it to some extent. Liked Aqua and Mickey the most. I consider 358/2 Days way better than this one. My favorite games are I and 358. Then II. The other games are decent but not a favorite.

I have been following the series since KH1, and this is a great addition to the series. Product came extremely fast. I had trouble originally because from the other seller I have trying to get this game from. Bought this game for a friend who is catching up on the series. So far she is loving it!
