> 3 dayPicked it up to test lumber when I go to the yard. Works well and seems accurate. My only complaint is the battery... toss it and get a better one (9V). It lasted less than 2 weeks, even with almost no use *and* stored outside the meter disconnected.

> 3 dayEvery home owner needs one of these if the had a leak. it will show where the moisture is higher behind sheet rock/wood/vinyl/ laminate/hardwood/even tile if you compare to the dry section first.

> 3 dayWould like not to select material since I only work with hardwoods but that’s my only slight crittisism.

> 3 dayThey made a very easy to use, reliable moisture meter. I am a hobby wood worker that needs to know moister content of varying thickness of hardwood and softwood and this worked great. The user interface is great. This is recommended over the “pin” type meters because it reads deeper and doesn’t make holes in the wood. Just be sure when using thinner boards to not stack them on other boards or materials as this can throw the reading off.

> 3 dayI have a chronic rain water problem in one exterior wall, it originates from either around a clerestory window or where the porch meets the wall. While I waited for the next rain storm, I thought I would see if this moisture meter works. I took a 1x2 foot piece of sheet rock and squirted about a third of the paper backing with water - not too much just enough to dampen it. After about an hour, I ran the meter over the plaster side around the area that I knew was dry and got a reading of 0% moisture; no surprise there. But as I moved to the dampened area, I got readings from 19 to 25 % moisture. The next day, I checked the sheet rock with a thermal imager and it indicated dampness around the edges and a couple of faint,I assumed ,damp spots - there was absolutely no visible or tactile moisture on either surfaces. I ran the Klein meter around the same areas, and the moisture meter showed positive in those identical spots. I was quite impressed. So, my conclusion is your sheet rock walls should be around 0%; this meter will indicate even the slightest bit of residual moisture.

> 3 dayI needed it to measure the moisture content of freshly cut lumber before I stained it.

> 3 dayUpdate: numbers began fluctuating and I went to return the item but accidentally sent a $400 Wagner Orion meter instead. Klein accepted the item that wasnt theirs and refunded me $40. Now Im trying to deal with Amazon to get this sorted out and get my refund corrected for the other$360. I compared this meters results to the flir meter used by my remediation guy. The numbers were very close. Now I have a meter that will show me when the dehumidifiers and fans have done their jobs. A point off because it doesnt have as many material types that others do. Will come back if anything goes wrong.

> 3 daySeems to work good. Cant compare with others as this is first time owning and using this type of device. Only thing I dont like is you gotta know if the wood is hard/soft. So if your not a tree whisperer gonna need to research your wood to know its type so you can choose right setting. No instructions for like paneling or other types of surfaces if looking for moisture in walls.

20-11-2024Cant speak to accuracy, but I used it as a relative measurement device to track down a roof leak

> 3 daybeing non contact type you have to have any debris wiped away from the test surface and press firmly to get a consistent reading. But overall I think its good value for the money.
