Greater than one weekWe needed to check our inner walls for moisture, and this meter did the trick for us.

> 3 dayAfter a leak in our bathroom, I wanted to monitor the drying process. This meter did the job great and came up with similar readings to a professionally calibrated meter. Highly recommended!

> 3 dayInitially it read 0.0% on all drywall. With several battery changes it started working and actually reading pretty accurately. It worked fine for a stretch and is now reading 0.0% again on all drywall. Have changed the battery multiple times hoping to bring it back with no luck. Because of this I would not recommend this product.

> 3 dayI bought this pin-less moisture meter specifically because it states it can read moisture to a depth of 3/4, and to measure the moisture in my fire wood. Its easy to use, no doubt, but is it accurate? I got suspicious passing the device over some pieces of cut wood and getting iffy readings, so I did a simple test: stick the device on my bare forearm: off the scale as expected; then over my shirt pressing on the forearm (so thats, what, 1/32?) and the reading is on the scale and around 20% moisture. So, yeah, just about useless for fire wood. It might work well for drywall, but given the above results I dont know that I can trust it.

> 3 day3/29/2023 Update: Klein replaced my unit under warranty, but if course I had to pay the return shipping, whereas if I had tested it right away I could have returned it to Amazonfor free. The new meter seems consistent with my miniLigno pin meter. Im pretty sure the sensing plate on the bad unit was set too deep and couldnt make contact with the wood, and looking at the new one I can see the difference. Original review: Purchased in July 2022 and tested operability when received, i.e. I installed the battery, turned it on, cycled through the modes and pressed it against some kiln-dried lumber in my shop. I thought it seemed odd that the moisture was so low, but didnt pursue it. Removed the battery and stored it in a shop drawer where I keep my instruments. Fast forward to January 2023, I got the meter out and checked some 2 year-old air-dryed walnut...meter indicated about 1.5% moisture, which is impossible. Measurements on other wood were all in the same realm of impossible. I have an inquiry submitted to Klein, but I see a lot of reviews with similar issue. I will update this review if/when I have something helpful to report.

> 3 dayI was skeptical about this tool but we had professionals come in after we took our readings and their tools agreed with this one. Worth the cost. It does require pressing the tool on the surface so its not for checking dampness from a distance. Easy to use and read.

> 3 dayMoisture meter seems to work well. Only complaint so far is the battery that was sent with the meter had to be replaced after making only 3 moisture checks, as the meter would shut off in the middle of a measurement . A new battery and it’s Now working fine. I have used it on hardwood, drywall, & concrete so far. I have no way to compare the readings to any other device to check the accuracy, but I have checked freshly cut oak which read above 30% and Popular that has been air drying for one year and it reads between 12% & 15% which should be about where the moisture content should be for that wood, so I assume it is fairly accurate.

> 3 dayBought this item from the warehouse. It is not working properly and the battery that comes with it is almost dead. The tool is shutting off right after a high reading has been taken. Otherwise, it seems like it would be a handy, easy to use, tool.
