Greater than one weekSoft & flexible cable, true copper 14 gauge. Very soft 100% copper so plan on tinning the tips if you are not installing a terminator. My 50 measured out with an extra 6.

> 3 daySolid oxygen free copper conductor. Not that janky CCA stuff. Easy to strip insulation, and the bare copper is easy to work with for termination. Finished cables look far more expensive than they are, but most importantly they perform incredibly. The only nitpick is that it can be difficult to see the black marking indicating the negative wire, but thats kind of a positive. You can find which is negative when you need to, without it jumping out at you when you dont.

> 3 dayThe jacket on this is so soft, rubbery, and extremely flexible. My wire strippers just slid on the jacket without touching it. The wire inside is strong enough that a light cut with scissors easily cut the jacket without damaging any of the wire. The wire lays perfectly flat. Its so limp itll go where you want it with no memory of its former shape. As for the stripe identifying each wire, there is none. However, the very fine white printing is only on one wire. That makes it easy enough to identify. Overall the quality is great inside and out. How does it sound? Honestly, if theres an improvement, its very subtle. My system already sounded fantastic. This just adds a nice touch of quality to the whole thing. It looks as good as it sounds!

> 3 daylove the cable and just what I needed for my 5.1 setup. I have a 5.1 setup on my computer using a thin line receiver. I had bought cable from HD but this cable was so stiff and hard to work with. The KnuConceptz is so easy to work with. Hopefully they make other gauges as well. I would consider using it on my other 5.1 setup. thanks for a great product.
Plain and Simple Specifications
- Wire type - CCA or OFC
These materials are commonly used, but not commonly stated when shopping online. Know what you are purchasing. Both metals are capable of performing up to their rated loads.
- American Wire Gauge
Wire gauge is crucial to powering your system correctly. Undersized cable will create unsafe conditions and may shorten your amplifier"s life.
True American Wire Gauge (AWG) Products
- Using American Wire Gauge standards, the gauge of stranded wire is determined by the total area of the conductor.
- To calculate this you would take the area of each strand and add it together. This area, in square mm, then determines gauge.
- Speaker Wire is often written as 14-2 or 14/2. This means 14 gauge x 2 conductor, both positive and negative signal are carried within one cable and are each 14 gauge.
- Diameter is not as critical with stranded wire, this is due to the tiny air gaps between each strand. Diameter may fluctuate with strand size and how tightly wound the rope of the cable is.
- The smaller the number, the larger the wire, until you reach zero or aught (0). Most speaker wire ranges from 10 to 16 gauge. 18 to 22 gauge is often much too thin for most Home Theater applications.
- Based on AWG, the true gauge of this cable is 14 Gauge
Oxygen Free Copper - The standard in audio
- Quality cables use quality materials. Oxygen Free Copper is copper of at least 4n purity. That means the conductor must be at least 99.99% copper.
- Copper speaker wire provides lower resistance than similar sized CCA cable. This means improved frequency response.
