> 3 dayI’ve only had this for a day so I cannot speak to the longevity of this unit. However, I needed a fan that would really move some air and not be in the way, this unit is exactly the one I wanted. The air is very directional, as would be expected with this kind of fan, but it’s definitely moving it. I can see this being great for someone that wants direct airflow at a desk or other stationary activity. As for the sound, which was my main concern, it measures at 66db if I put my watch right next to the unit, which is pretty good. The sound it makes is actually very smooth like a white noise machine. Note: it does use a 3 prong plug for anyone that may be in older construction.

> 3 dayMy A/C died in the height of summer and bought this fan and two others. This fan is about the size of a small printer and is so powerful it will blow your eyelids back if you put it on the highest setting. I put it on the floor near the bed, tilted it up, and slept amazingly well in 100 degree heat. Its slightly noisy, but much less than I expected. Its easy to adjust the aim of the fan so you can get the maximum breeze. I highly recommend this if you are stuck in a hot and stuffy environment. I wanted to add, I dont know if mine came with a remote control or I just didnt use it because it was so gross in my house, I just plugged the damn thing in and laid in front of it for about an hour.

> 3 dayAmazing! In So FL and it’s hot. Lowest setting is great for now. Using out on the enclosed lanai. Will be a life saver this summer.

> 3 dayNeed to cool off quick, this fan will do it. It is literally 10-15 degrees cooler standing behind this fan when it’s on than not. It is like turning on instant air conditioning. The power outlet on the side has come in handy to charge up batteries and misc. items. It is very quiet and a must have as a DJ.

> 3 daysmall powerful, move air better than most fan... doesnt take up a lot of space and it is a powerful air mover; I cant stand air-condition (dry cold air), so I use this to stay cool; most big fan make too much noise and doesnt move the air well; this little guy move air better than those giant fan and not as loud...

> 3 dayThis fan blows quite well on setting 1. Settings 2 and 3 seem to work a lot harder, and use more power, without a large increase in output. So, for me, setting 1 should work fine, without stressing the fan. Overall, very satisfied. Im rating a 4, a 5 would require longevity, so well see.

Greater than one weekThis thing is large, but has a cool handle, a really long cord, and the blower can rotate up and down for exact performance. My husband keeps our room at artic temps even in winter and when our old fan went out (bc it ran 24/7), he was miserable for 2 nights. Definitely does not disappoint, but it is kinda bulky.

> 3 dayI bought this fan at the beginning of May and it worked for less then 4 months. It developed and grinding/scrapping sound that is so loud and worrisome that it renders it borderline unusable. I reached out to Lasko directly via their website requesting assistance a week ago and have received no response. Im guessing that I purchased at defective one, given the generally positive reviews, and I was happy enough with the fan while it worked. I am hoping that the company will notice this review and reach out to resolve my issue. Edit: While I wont claim that they were fast, I will say that Laskos customer service did make my situation right. They sent a complete replacement after I answered some questions. The replacement fan seems to work fine, so I am reasonably satisfied with the result. Updating the review to a 4 out of 5 since the fan still broke and the issue took a decent amount of time to resolve.

> 3 dayWe have been using this for the better part of a year now, and continue to be impressed with how effective it is. I am surprised not to have seen this sort of design in more widespread use, since it is really remarkably powerful. I wouldnt mind if there were a gentler, quieter setting available - even the lowest power setting is a bit hurricane-force in effect. But most of the time that intensity is exactly what you want. Highly recommended.

> 3 dayI purchased this to keep myself from overheating when I am working in my garage. The fan, although noisy, as you would expect it to be, it throws out a powerful stream of air in a relatively concentrated (but not too concentrated) fashion. It is very effective and the ability to tilt it so many degrees is a real plus. I have already ordered a second one that is also a Lasko, looks almost identical, but is a little less powerful. I will be using it out in my lanai when the air is too warm to comfortably sit out there
