Layrite Original Pomade

I have short hair and wanted to wear a wet look. Its convenient and takes like 3 minutes to style my hair out of the shower versus drying and then flat-ironing. I bought medium hold and it held my hair in place the entire day at work and way after I got home. Ill definitely use it again and will most likely buy the larger size when Im ready for a second purchase!

The product is good value for volume and works with retaining style shape. It does have a more chemical smell and takes a bit of time to wash out of hair. I usually use Aveda pomade which is much more expensive but washes out very nicely and has a more plant based ( I think eucalyptus) smell. I think I prefer the Aveda but my teenage son will like this product

Been using this for about 5 years, will never use another product. Washes out easily, holds brilliantly and has a super subtle smell that smells clean.

“By barbers for barbers” is the bottom line! Those were your words Donnie, Haha! Barbers these days don’t like the good old pomade of the old days like Dax and Murray’s. This is because it’s more difficult for them to cut. Lay Rite or any other non-petroleum based pomade that washes out in water is not going going to give you the height that greasers want. My advice is that if your barber doesn’t have a can of Murray’s on his counter, or complains about the pomade you’re using, ditch him!

Works every time

I have tried MANY hair gels over the years and this is by far the best! Put product in palms, rub your hands together, put n hair and style. The scent is light, but pleasant and not feminine. The hold it provides lasts all day, without diminishing, and even so, it washes out super easy.

Great for trips. TSA allows gets on my case about the bigger case but this one is great.

It came with the bottom of the container cracked.

If I want my hair to look sassy, I just slap some of this on it and I get immediate, subtle shine and the best texture. You can fluff your hair back up again throughout the day and it rinses out of your hair with water. Love that this improves my hair, but is lighter than pomade and leaves hair touchable.
