Our 4 & 6 year olds have just started getting into legos, and this was a great starter set for them. There are enough pieces to make the build interesting (with some grown up help) but not so many pieces that they got frustrated and gave up. Neither of them knows much about Hydro-Man, but they both still enjoyed playing with the set as well as the process of building it. Good starter set for young lego fans, or as an add-on piece to a bigger collection.

My 9 year old son was a big fan. He’s a big fan of legos in general but really liked this set

This is a fun LEGO set. It kind of blends a LEGO City-style set (Venice) with superhero characters, so it is a lot of fun. My kids really enjoyed building it and playing with it. And they especially love how this mimics the intricacy of the LEGO City sets. The characters are fun, especially the Hydro-Man with the water base. So this one is another hit. And as usual, it assembled just as expected and with well-crafted instructions.

This is a beautiful set and it certainly gets me excited for the new movie. Peter Parker can battle with Mysterio and Hydro-Man in this Venice scene that has the canal, the bridge, a gondola and a tiny cafe. There are fun surprises in the bridge and under the cafe table that give you an interactive experience as your minifigures do battle. The gondola is a really neat addition. It looks great and you can use it in many ways beyond this set. The hat element for Peter Parker that looks like his Spider-Man mask pulled up so you can see his face is really neat. We have Spider-Man minifigs, but not a lot of Peter Parker figs that truly identify him as Spidey and this piece is fun for play (and a good collectible). We also have a lot of fun using it on different figures because everyone should get a turn to be Spider-Man, right? I like that the Hydro-Man water tower ensemble wasnt too big. I was worried it would dominate the rest of the set, once built. It is well proportioned and I think the design team did a great job putting it together. And the printing on the Hydro-Man figure looks really good. In a pinch, he could be re-purposed as a poor mans Dr. Manhattan if you need a last minute Watchmen team. (Sorry for switching from Marvel to DC for a minute.) I think the Mysterio figure is awesome. I like how they did the head piece. Note that there is no unmasking built into this set. You cant remove his helmet and reveal Jake Gyllenhaal; beneath the clear spheroid helmet is a solid grey head-shaped piece. It makes for a great look. The Venice scene itself is really nice. I typically expect a set like this to really be backdrop for the fight scenes as you play, but this one really shines on its own. There are only a few elements that make this Spider-Man and they can all be removed easily. Then youre left with a fun bridge over a Venetian canal next to a cafe.

This is a fun and exciting set. I really like the fact that Peter Parker is in half a costume. It fits the action scene just perfectly. The set is easy to build, and my toddler was able to build most of it by himself looking at the instructions. He enjoys playing with this set, even though he doesnt know who the bad guys are. He likes the Water Guy and keeps wanting to bring him into the tub with him. This is one of those sets if you could create a diorama you would have a super awesome display piece. It has the look and feel of a scene in motion. I cant wait to see this movie when it comes out, and for now the Lego toys are just whetting my appetite even more.

The movie that this set is designed around hasnt come out yet, but its a cool little set for all fans of Spider-man and LEGO! Ive seen the trailer for the movie and look forward to seeing it when it comes out as the new spider-man franchise as been done very well so far in my opinion! The set itself is cool and the figures you get are unique and look just like what I saw in the trailer for the movie. Its really easy to put together and definitely is catered toward the collector or younger kids. Its a pretty simple set, not really complex or exciting, but as always, well made!
