> 24 hourI was a Telecom technician for over 5 years, and I have been a controls electrician for the last 6. I work in controls panels, and used to work in smart panels all day. I was used to seeing Open House and Legrand smart panels for the most part, but when I went to buy my own, I bought Leviton without much research, because it’s what first to came up on Amazon for a plastic panel (I’m putting my wifi router in it) and I trusted them as an electrician. I finally got around to installing my own Structured Media Enclosure / Smart Panel in my own home, and I am very unimpressed. The Leviton hole spacing is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from EVERY OTHER BRAND! That means all my Beldan, Open House and Legrand parts DO NOT FIT without modification. EVERY OTHER PANEL I have worked on had the same mounting hole spacing. If you buy this panel, you will be stuck using Leviton parts, which are easily DOUBLE the price of every other brand. I had purchased this panel so long ago it was too late to return it, so I ended up spending around $400 in extra accessories that I already had for literally any other brand of panel. Shame on Leviton for making their product proprietary. Avoid this product all together and look for literally any other brand.

> 24 hourI had outgrown my existing media structure in the house. Purchased this and very happy with the purchase. Cut out a larger hole to accommodate the bigger size, and installed it. Great quality and happy with the range and quality of all the accessories as well.

> 24 hourThis product is OK. But seriously, $21 per shelf bracket? At the first look I thought thats the price for 10-pack. I cant believe a piece of plastic cost $21. I know that piece of plastic can support 20 lb weight. But I dont need it to support 20 lb. I need a piece of plastic supporting less than 1lb tiny modem/router/switches. Whos going to put anything more than that in an enclosure of this size? There must be a sales term for this: selling the product at a reasonable price, but marking up the essential accessories.

> 24 hourWell, the box seems sturdy and wouldve hidden some wireless + wired equipment nicely for me, but the plan was to put it in a closet inside living space in the home and this thing reeks to high heaven of plasticizers and other VOCs. I let it spend a day in the sun to see if that would help, but it barely faded at all. The Mrs. is really sensitive to funny smells and this wouldve been banned from the house had I even made an attempt to install it. Its a shame, because the design is really nice, and less industrial than a metal cabinet or comm rack. I guess Ill be putting all the gear on a sheet of EPVC board and mounting it in the garage. The structured media centers going back to the Amazon Warehouse where I got it, like-new condition, and hopefully someone can give it a third attempt at life. Just too stanky for my home.

> 24 hourThis was great, just wish it was maybe a quarter inch narrower. Had to fight the studs to get it in the wall.

> 24 hourOur home came with an 18” on metal Onq box. It was not big enough for the 20 ethernet cables, 20 coax cables, and speaker wires. Upgrading was easy but I did choose to install the tabs on the drywall instead of trying to seat the box flush. The end look is still relatively clean (it’s in a broom closet) and made it incredibly easy to just cut the drywall to accommodate the box and screw it down. I was able to fit all the coax, a 24 port commercial switch, a surfboard modem, an EERO router, and a powerstrip in the box tightly but neatly. It would not have worked if I had chosen to energize and connect the coax as well (which I passed on since we don’t use it). Honestly I think I would run a separate box and fish the coax over if it comes to that. The hinged door is really nice for routers and things where restarts are sometimes necessary. The vented plastic means no signal loss and plenty of airflow. It does feel a bit flimsy and cheap (but still does look nice) but honestly it doesn’t get used that often so I don’t care. The organization system, shelves, and tie downs are solid and I have no concerns of anything snapping or falling.
