At first, I was skeptical that this would help with my severe allergies to dust, dogs, certain outdoor trees and weeds. After a few days, I noticed that I did not wake up with a stuffy nose anymore, which is such a relief! Pretty much what I am allergic to indoors (dust & dogs) is hard to avoid as I have 2 dogs & live in the dustiest state in the US, Arizona (big ol dust bowl). Glad I gave this a try. I will need to order a few more for other rooms. Definitely recommend!

I have had this for a few months now. I noticed a clear difference with the amount of dust in my bedroom. I also can see the dust on my filters when I change them! Worth the buy!! Considering buying more.

This machine absolutely works and I’d still recommend it to friends/family because I do think it’s worth the investment. I bought it to help me during allergy season and within the first couple days of having it on, I noticed I was sneezing less and much less congested. However, I just got my power bill back and yikes. This little machine alone cost me an extra $100 in electricity. So I shut it off for now and noticed my sneezing and congestion are back and just as bad as before. I still plan to use this but will definitely need to start being more strategic with how long I keep this on and using the timer feature more often. (I had just left it running for really extended periods of time before.) I would caution others to do the same if they plan on purchasing.

I purchased this unit for my common area of the home to help manage the dust and dander that was being brought in by my 2 dogs. Initially, I had it running in my kitchen near the dining table but the noise was so obtrusive during dinner that I moved it into the living area. This has been good at controlling the amount of dust on surfaces and I have noticed that I don’t smell the lingering odors of dinner in the air like I used to. That being said, this thing is loud. On the highest setting it’s very similar to a box fan. I can hear it from my bedroom at the opposite end of my 1200 sqft house. I leave it running on the middle setting most of the time to reduce the noise. I have the mini version in my bedroom that is significantly quieter even on the highest setting. I would be interested to know the difference in purification efficiency of the large unit running on medium or low vs the small unit running on high in a 300 sqft room. My choice would be to have multiple small units vs one large one due to the sound quality. That’s just my two cents.

TLDR: This has worked well for us. I was surprised to discover how much dust had been in the air and how well it gets rid of odors. Was impressed enough that I bought a second one for my son as a Christmas gift. PROS * I was surprised at how much dust it collected in about 10 days. We keep a pretty clean house, but theres a lot more dust in the air than I realized. I have a touch of asthma and feel like Im breathing easier. (I have wondered if I am actually breathing easier or if I just think Im breathing easier because I saw how much dust it was catching. I suppose its a win either way.) * It got rid of odor well. Two quick examples: First: We burned some hamburgers in the kitchen. It stunk up the living room, too. About one hour of running this purifier on its highest level reduced the smell. Two hours later, it was almost unnoticeable. Second: I got overly aggressive with some Lysol in an office, and the smell was so strong I didnt want to sit in there. I moved the air purifier in there, and in half an hour, it was tolerable. After an hour (small room), the smell was barely noticeable. I bet there are strong odors it might not be able to handle. Its just an air purifier, after all. But the two times we needed it for a smell, it worked well. * Im mechanically challenged, so when I saw there was some air filter cleaning required, I wondered how it would go. Cleaning the exterior part of the filter was easy. Just twisted off the bottom of the unit and wiped the dust off. (Im no expert on the filter, but its all one piece. The exterior part of the filter has a cloth-like wrap around it that catches the biggest particles. That apparently helps the interior part of the filter. I wiped off the exterior part of the filter.) * The control panel on top is simple and has useful options. It includes a timer option, three different speeds, and a button that turns off the control panel lights. Turning off the lights is a nice feature for sleeping if you want to run it at a higher speed than the sleep setting. CONS * I move this around our house quite a bit. Its light, but it would be nice if there was a handle on the top to make it easier to carry around. * Im not sure if the filter will last six months. It could become a little more of an expense than I originally guessed because it collects dust quicker than I expected. (I guess thats not a con yet. Will see how that works out.) * The sound of the fan running when its on level 3 (the highest level) isnt loud, but its definitely noticeable. That doesnt bother me, but I suspect it could bother some people. (I dont notice the sound on the two lower levels, but my wife can hear it on level 2, describing it as very quiet white noise.) MISCELLANEOUS * Ive seen some reviews that said there was a plastic smell when they started the unit. I didnt experience that. Im guessing what might be happening: There are TWO plastic coverings on this purifier when it arrives. One plastic covering surrounds the entire unit. The other is plastic that wraps around the filter inside the unit. Its possible people arent taking the plastic off the filter inside. If that stayed on there, it would probably stink pretty bad. FINAL THOUGHT I did a lot of online research on air purifiers before making a purchase. (I hadnt even heard of Levoit before buying this.) I cant say if this unit is better than the others because I havent owned the others and there are some good ones out there. I chose this because it looked like it was good and would be really tough to beat for the price … IF it worked well. It has worked well for us.

All these air purifiers advertise as whisper quiet.... which sounds like it would be good. But would you want someone whispering in your bedroom at night? No. You can definitely hear it run at night. It sounds like a quiet room fan. Normally that would be fine for us, but we have a different brand of air purifier in another room that doesnt make ANY noise. And thats what Im going after. Other than that, it was nice. So Im returning it and finding one that is even more whisper quiet. This one is advertised as going down to 24dB and so I found one that goes down to 17dB (BlueAir). The absolutely silent one I have in another room is a cheap Bissel MyAir. I really like it. Its silent, and there is very little dust in that room, and the filter gets dirty. So it appears to work. But its cheap and has a so-so review from Consumers Reports. So thats why Ive decided to try this BlueAir one instead (what Im returning this one for). Its more expensive, has better filtering technology. But I do really want it to be quiet. So if youre looking for a CHEAP and silent air purifier that works good enough, Id recommend the Bissel MyAir.

Literally the first Amazon review Ive left after an ungodly amount of purchases throughout the years. Love my Levoit air purifier! Ive had it for about 6 months running constantly on the low setting in my living room. Changed the filter today for the first time and was SHOCKED when I compared the dirty filter next to a clean one! Im going to be buying a second system for my bedroom. Its super easy to change out the filter to, just turn it upside down and twist off the bottom cover, easy peasey!

I had terrible allergies this year and then someone recommended buying an air purifier. My search on Amazon lead me to this one and no wonder the ratings are so high for this. It works like a charm! Very easy to assemble and install. And it purifies the air very efficiently. I could see its effect from Day 1. While I dont have a way to scientifically measure the purity of the air in my bedroom, the way my body responded to allergies after I started using this air purifier gives me immense faith in its quality and standard. A must buy!
