Its not user friendly, kind of sorry I bought it. It is hard to master the mouse to get the full page and you need to keep replacing your regular mouse with this because you wouldnt want to use this all the time since he bottom is the scanner glass.

I’m a teacher and it is great to have this scanner. I can scan either text or pictures to make worksheets or tests for my classroom. I’ve recommended this so many times when I’ve attended meetings or gone to conferences. I actually have three - one for school, home, and traveling. It does a great job scanning. It did take me a couple of tries learning how to move the scanner the first couple of times but it is so easy after you master it.

As described fully in the product description it is really good to have for people who travel lot and work off office most of the time. While in office you would prefer to use a scanner which is quite cheaper than this. As it works in both mode, scan and can be use as a mice. But I would recommend only use it while scanning, if you want to use as a mice, buy another cheap one and keep both in you laptop bag. I bought it for my friend in India and he loved it, because its not like US that everyone have personal scanner at home. It is off much much use for him while making presentation, the software it has can easily convert the scanned page text which can be edited in MS Word. I would say it is a quality product.

I bought this scanner because I wanted to scan book pages from recipe books, music books, etc., some sizes larger than an 8.5 x 11. I found that scanning books with smaller (.5) margins were impossible to scan without some excessive work at keeping the sensor on the page and any shift in position caused the scanner to start scanning at a different angle instead of straight. I also found that if you try to scan anything larger than letter-size pages, the scanner memory will run out before youve finished scanning the item, making stitching impossible because when it reconnects to the page, you find you have to start all over. I agree with other reviewers about the cord. The cord is covered in rubber that grips the paper and moves it when youre trying to scan. Nothing can be done about it, other than taping the corners of the sheet to the table surface. Its a huge annoyance. The bad thing is, the cord is positioned level with the scanning surface, so it literally skips across the surface while you scan. A better design would have been to make the cord position higher on the mouse so it doesnt skip across the page along with the scanner and to cover it with a smooth-gliding plastic rather than gripping rubber. Not sure which one of LGs rocket-scientists made that call, but it doesnt work, which is surprising for an LG product. Most LG products are great. This one is not. Further on that subject, you will find NO support for this product on LGs U.S. site. You have to go to the UK site if you want any support or information on this product or to download the latest drivers and software for the product (if the autoupdate quits working within the software, which it does, sadly, leaving you to deal with failed installs.). For me, that kind of raises a skeptical eyebrow as to the reasoning behind the non-U.S. support. If you are scanning flat sheets, it does an ok job, but then flat sheets can be scanned with a regular flat-bed or page scanner better and more efficiently, so why spend money on something like this (unless space is an issue)? If space is an issue, you better keep tape nearby to dock the paper to the surface so the cord doesnt move it. And forget about any type of book scanning. Flatbed scanning is more efficient despite the dark spine sides. Needless to say, Im really bummed that this product didnt work for my needs. Its not perfect, by any means.

The Scanner Mouse is good but not great. It has a small learning curve. The USB cable that it is attached to seems to get in the way. It is easier to use on large documents such as 8x11 paper and not that easy to use on Calling Cards, receits, etc. The ideal Scanner Mouse would be wireless.

This is a unique product. It functions as a mouse, but also as a portable scanner when used with a laptop. The image resolution is very good and it is easy to use. When scanning at the edge of an image, particularly the edges of a book or magazine, the scanned image tends to get partially rotated. When that happens, I have been unable to get it straightened again and have found the easiest solution is to end the scan and start over, again. Overall, I am happy with this product. I bought it for my wife to use to scan magazine and newspaper articles and sections of catalogs. Seemed like a better solution than having little pieces of articles torn out and stored in an unrecoverable manner (like stuck in a box). Because of the inconsistency of the edge scans, it is not getting much use.

Mouse was not as easy to use or as comfortable as old one. Scanner was not easy to use, especially at the edges of the documents.. Picture scanning was not very good (image). User manual was extremely large, most of it in languages other than english, and one of the WORST, least helpful user manuals I have ever seen. There was nothing in the manual that told how to put a scanned document into word or excell and use the ocr software. Great idea, but a little more efffort in design and a much better manual would have gone a long way.

Save your money people. The cord alone will bring enough frustration for you to want to throw it against the wall. You cannot lift the scanner like you would a regular mouse. As soon as you lift the mouse your scan is ruined and have to start again. It is possible to scan using this device if you are willing to spend a lot of time and go over your document again and again. I bought this gadget to scan documents quickly and efficiently. Boy, was I wrong. The material at the bottom of the mouse sticks to paper and in my case it was also uneven. Scanning books?-------- forget it.

I bought this thing to take to Taiwan with me, to help me in my traditional Chinese lessons. To my surprise and disappointment, LG does not recognize this language in its OCR data base! (Oh, but it has over 180 other languages in its database!) What a waste of money! Other than that, its just fine.

The new cordless model would make this mouse scanner much easier to use. I like how I can scan my college assignments then have the ability to edit the text. Its still pretty cool.
