LG Neo Blade III FHD 24-Inch Computer Monitor 24MP88HV-S - IPS Display, Silver

For normal daylight viewing, this is a fine monitor, with excellent colors. However, the light bleed, or ips glow as some people call it on this panel is atrocious. With that being said, if you plan on using this in a dark environment, do not get this monitor, you will not be happy.

This a great monitor sound is not that bad actually. Its pretty loud! But I would say the monitor is perfect!

Looks pretty. Set up was painless and resolution adjusted to my MacBook Pro. Rich settings. Picture quality as expected for the price range. I wish I could adjust screen position. Overall so far very happy with it!

I wish I could love this monitor but unfortunately, both unit (original and the replacement) shows the same type of screen defect after only 6 hours of usage and the symptom of such defect intensified as the usage time increases. I have contacted LG tech support and they said that it is the burn-in defect and instruct me to return it to retailer (Amazon) or to send in for repair. I have verified that it is not my hardware (either graphic card, the HDMI cable or the combination of two) causes such issue. I ran test with the 4 years old HP IPS LED monitor that I intended to replace, as well as a HP IPS LED monitor borrowed from a friend. In the test, I use the same port and same HDMI cable and ran the same amount of usage time for all the monitors (the HP, Dell, and the two LG 24MP88HV-S). Only the LG 24MP88HV-S shows the red glow / burn-in. I read other review and seems other users have no problem after even 4 months of usage or more. Perhaps I am just unfortunate enough to receive two defect units in a roll or something is wrong with that batch in the manufacturing process. Even the LG tech support representative looked at the issue and she said it is weird. Only TVs have burn-in but monitor rarely has burn-in. Anyway, I will have to return it and get a Dell or HP monitor. It is a shame that LG makes great products, but I am unable to have a decent one. I have many LG products and none of them has defect and operate for years. I guess I just won the “lottery” this time.

Overall a good monitor, with a few minor issues. Im sure you can find reviews that highlight all the good parts of this monitor, so Ill just highlight some of the complaints I have with it. The monitor wobbles quite a bit when the table beneath it moves, I wish the stand was more robust and had less play. The speakers do not get very loud, and are pretty tinny. This shouldnt be a problem if youre planning on using external speakers, but the internal speakers on the monitor arent that good.

These are decent monitors, a perfect 3 stars. You can see my attached photo - they look nice have good color representation and have nice slim bezels. There are some drawbacks which is why I take off 2 stars. For one, as other other reviewers have mentioned, the sleep lights on these things are super annoying. I too have them in my room and figured it would not be a big deal when I first bought them, but it is proving to get really annoying. Every time I let my computer go to sleep I have to manually turn the monitors off, otherwise the white led will blink and light up my room at night like a dance club. This annoyance really adds up over time. Second, I took another star off because even though the bezels are slim, they could be even slimmer if LG had put in slightly more effort. There is a silver plastic strip around the edges while the actual monitor bezel is much smaller. If they had went with a seamless design like Apple has for it’s iMacs, the bezel would be an additional 2 mm thinner and almost invisible. When you have dual monitors you don’t want anything other than black on the edges; yet LG decided to go with silver.

I loved this monitor initially when I received and using it. it was perfect for my use although it could have had an improvement in the sound system, however today I just randomly got this line across the monitor!!! i am super disappointed in LG since I am a big fan of their products.
