This has more features than most people will ever need. Its solid metal housing will prevent tampering. The only down side is it is a little difficult to install. You have to hold it up with one hand and attach the wires with the other. I recommend a second set of hands for the install

My old Linear keypad stopped working and I could not find a place to get parts. I gave up and got this and replaced the entire unit. My gate is now back in business. These are easy to program, are ruggedly built, feature a nice tactal feedback and are illuminated at night.

The AK-11 is a rugged keypad, that stands up to constant use for years. Programming is not too difficult, but near every functionality you would need is available. The only thing I wish were different is that the lighting was LED and not provided by a small incandescent bulb. We have 2, and have used them solely in our environment for at least a decade. One of ours, after good number of years, had the keys start to stick, and soon after the unit stopped working (The other one is still going strong!). Without hesitation, we replaced it with another AK-11. The price here on Amazon was good. The product came in perfect condition, genuine packaging, and operates as exceptionally well as we expected. We look forward to many years of use from this product.

I just replaced my first one that was over ten years old with this new one. They are the same exact thing. They are a bit hard to program but if you just take your time you will be ok. **EDIT** I bought this December 17th 2018. It stopped working 2 months ago, but because I have been so busy I just got around to looking at it. The inside of the new one looks like its 20 years older than the ten year old one I took down, when replacing it. I followed the instructions to a tee and there was one already there so I know I did not install this wrong. It is toasted... By first one never got so wet inside and it was installed the same exact way. Just Beware..

Awesome unit. I am so glad I decided to spend the extra money and get this, compared to the garbage I was considering. This thing is tough, and you can just tell it is made from quality. Works great, and well designed. The buttons beep as you press them, and light up to so you can see in the dark. Nice unit.

I bought this item as a replacement for the identical item for my self-storage business. The original finally gave in to the outdoor elements and it was just time for a new one :-) And a great replacement it is! Thank You!
