> 3 dayThis book started out as a great overview for kali linux and getting set up. With some exceptions most of the walkthroughs worked flawlessly during the first half of the book but towards the end some of the commands weren’t exactly right. I was able to perform ~90% of the exercises but it would be good to revisit and provide the necessary updates. Overall very pleased.

Greater than one weekThe author writes well and its easy to understand, even if he does come off a little pompous sometimes. The problem is that for every really cool thing he teaches you, theres something equally as cool that just blatantly doesnt work the way he says it does, if at all. Also, after learning a little more from other sources, Im finding that he does things the hard way a lot of the time. I dont know if thats intentional or not, but when I learned the easy ways it left me scratching my head. All in all its not bad, but take it with a grain of salt and dont expect to become some gazing hacker from it.

> 3 dayFirst chapter was good but serves a lot of challenges as this outdated and can not follow along.

Greater than one weekIndeed one of the best books I have bought for Linux starters.

> 3 dayThis book should be titled “Basic Introduction to Linux” because there is nothing in there that has to do with hacking whatsoever. If you are just getting started with Linux, then go ahead and buy, but if you hope to learn anything else, get another book or watch some YouTube.
