> 24 hourUsed it for my last vacation. You still have to remove all your electronics from the bag. Doesn’t matter if you open it all the way. Was good for the trip and didn’t have any issues.

> 24 hourIn the world of laptop and travel backpacks, this one fits the bill. I personally purchased this for transporting my laptop daily to work and holding my gym clothes & shoes. Most laptop bags were HUGE on me as a 55 tall woman. I looked like a little kid and the backpacks were bulky and felt like a turtle shell. However, the smaller backpacks that fit my frame didnt fit my 17 laptop. This backpack is a happy medium. I could almost fit 3 days worth of gym clothes in the main compartment. The separation between the two compartments for clothes and laptop sleeve area is an excellent touch.

> 24 hourI’m torn on how I feel about this backpack for air travel. I was looking for a bag that packs well for a few days trip, to be used as a “personal item” sized bag. The bag packs very well. We rolled my son’s shirts and shorts and stacked them accordingly so the bag wasn’t too thick to fit under the seat. We also put his laptop, headphones, and all electronics in the back zipper. However, TSA would not allow us to simply unzip the back and flip it open as advertised when the bag/laptop goes through the scanner. They want all electronics completely removed and put in a bin. Also, the bag is very long and stuck out quite a bit when on the floor of the plane and under the seat. The bag was not over packed at all, it’s the bag itself that stuck out too far from top to bottom. No one seemed to notice or care, but it hinders what little leg room you already have. We placed it in front of a child who’s feet doesn’t touch the ground and squished the top of the bag in as best we could. All in all I like the bag and it’s many compartments, it seems durable and sturdy. However I will not be taking it on a plane as a personal item again.
