Less about the music, more about the vinyl pressing. Previous Lana vinyl has been an afterthought apparently. Discs sound noisy and undefined, especially the red vinyl Honeymoon. This though, sounds GREAT. As good as any other modern 180g pressing Ive heard. Its such a satisfying feeling when you pay $40+ for a copy and it sounds actually made for people to listen to it. Not in the I love vinyl because it sounds like crap way, but in the I love vinyl because I have decent equipment and can hear the sonic advantages way. Thank you Interscope or whatever for finally doing her music justice and putting some money behind a good presentation. Listening on: VPI Scout with Ortofon Blue cart, Pro-Ject Tube Box DS, Sansui 7070, Polk Monitor 10 and Wharfedale Denton 80th Anniversary

I think her best, most complete album yet, though maybe instrumentally not as deep as say Ultraviolence, her duet with Sean Lennon & Stevie Nicks alone makes up for some of the more juvenile Ae$op duets. Its well-rounded, a bit sunnier, which makes for a great overall listen of Lanas terrific voice.

Really great album. Ive been listening to non stop since it came out. I listen to it in the car, when Im at home cooking/cleaning, and when Im at the gym. I rarely pay for music now since I pay for different streaming services but Im glad I bought this one!

This became an immediate favorite! Lanas voice is just so soothing & full of emotion. Stand out tracks for me are; Beautiful people, beautiful problems, with Stevie Nicks & Tommorow Never came, with Sean Lennon. Plus Lust for Life with the Weeknd. Lana is always refreshingly different & doesnt need 50 back up dancers to help her perform her songs.

I fear that Lana is running out of ideas. She has always presented herself as a storytelling type of musician, but lately those stories have been uninspiring starting with Honeymoon. I criticized Honeymoon because I felt it was too one-dimensional. Thats not really the problem with Lust For Life. She has created a bit of a more up-beat chill tune that is a bit refreshing. Unfortunately other problems come into play. Half the songs on this album sound rough and unpolished. Tracks like Cherry, Summer Bummer, and God Bless America sound like they belong in an experimental EP rather than the final product of an album - kind of interesting sounds but so not ready for prime time. Then theres the flagship song of the album, Lust For Life. Im going to nominate it as a candidate for Worst Lyrics of 2017. Droning take off all your clothes ad nauseum does not make a good song, whether you collaborated with The Weekend or not. I DID like White Mustang and kind of liked Heroin, but thats pretty much it. TLDR - Album feels unfinished and too rough for release. I feel like Lanas creativity peaked with her Paradise EP, and now its become stale, like shes burned out or something. I hope she can take a break and come back with something better, because I LOVE her voice!
