This program was easy to install. It has an older style of layout and there is definitely a learning curve to using it. Some of the functions are better in other video editing software such as trimming video. Overall it works and gets the job done for creating home videos of all my footage and adding music to them along with using the transition effects.

I wish I could say otherwise, but this software feels incredibly outdated compared to other versions of video editing software that I have either paid for or downloaded for free. I had a hard time navigating the software itself. Nothing about it felt intuitive, and it was even hard to find any good tutorials for it online. It is incredibly hard to figure out how to apply the effects, and once you do, it affects the whole video. In order to apply it to certain parts (say for example you wanted to use lens flare) you need to cut your video where you want to apply it, and then make sure it only applies to that clip. You have to be careful about playing with the toggles as well, because if you arent paying attention to what youre doing it will ruin that entire portion of the clip, and sometimes the program wont let you undo an action, claiming that an undo is not possible. You can learn the keyboard shortcuts quite easily if you play around with the menus and make note of them, but again, this information isnt just readily available which made me feel like I wasted a lot of time editing manually (if youre going to edit videos for a living or as a side hustle its incredibly important not to waste time and to learn or implement your own shortcuts). This program might be good for beginners, or for kids working on projects for school - but I dont know that I would recommend this for anyone else.

Buggy. Ill have to use an older version of Vegas. Never should have bought this. No wonder its on specia.

My husband who is pretty good at this kind of thing is having an issue getting it installed. He is going to work on it again this weekend and I will update my review on how that goes

I recently ordered the Magix Movie Studio Suite to use to make some video of a recent trip. The disk arrived quickly. Typically, a CD installs just run and when you open the software, it asks for the serial number to actually use it. This was the most convoluted installation process Ive ever experienced. The disk arrived with a voucher number which has to be entered on a website, which of course you have to create an account first. You then receive an email with the serial number. Just this aspect, took a while. With the initial email, you also get some bonus plug-ins serial numbers as well. Well, you have to create an account with that maker and then you get more serial numbers. I downloaded these plug-ins and entered the numbers within but required I download again from within the software. It took me over 2 hours to get this installation completely installed, updated and ready to go. Im no novice with computers and I have not been this frustrated in a long time. Having finally gotten it figured out and updated, I got to play around with the functions. Although my computer is fast, this software stalled a lot and took a while to upload videos. I had to force close a couple of times. It is also important to note that I constantly get pop up advertisements to upgrade my software subscription and there isnt a way to stop it. I will likely just keep using my windows movie maker instead of this software.

I received 2 different versions of this software. This Suite being the larger version. It was kind of a pain to get everything installed because of the different licenses and serial numbers you have to register for in order to activate everything and there is still 1 part that I dont think I have installed yet. As far as the use of the software is concerned, I am still very new at using this and I will admit that I am very much a beginner when it comes to editing video. I am a professional photographer and have been shooting for about 35 years. However, I never shot video let alone edited it. This software is pretty easy to use and I am starting to get the hang of it. I have 4 or 5 other programs that I have been testing and so far this is in my top2 for ease of use for a beginner. I think the few negatives I have are more my fault then the software. Overall I am happy with this program other that it only being for a PC. I wish I could run it on my mac!

Was really excited to get this software and start doing some more advanced editing for my business for social posts. The software comes with a card with a voucher code that youre supposed to go to a website and register, which then should send you an email with your serial number, that you can then use to register the actual software. Confused yet?? Well, when I plugged in my voucher code, sure enough I got an email a few minutes later... with a coupon for $15 off at the Magix software store. This was supposed to be a full license. Complete scam. I reached out to the customer support email. Now going on day three with no response from them.

I liked this software. it comes with the most various plugins and codecs. If not, the program automatically downloads what I need. Easy installation. what I didnt like was the interface. A bit old and not very user-friendly. Little intuitive and without resources to add commands to the menu. On the other hand, the conversion of videos is relatively fast.

I dont shoot that much video, but I do shoot some and I am always interested in anything that might make my editing job simpler. I already have a different Magix program which I like so I thought I would try their video editor. I received a DVD installation package and as I do have a DVD drive I chose to install that way. It can be done as a download version if you do not have a suitable drive. The installation can only be described as S-L-O-W. It took 22 minutes from start to finish for the full installation of the video editor only. Rather annoyingly to my mind I then had to take the voucher code that came with the DVD and go to the companys website to redeem it. The only way to redeem it is to create an account. Most people buying software like this will create an account anyway so I see this extra step to get a serial number as totally unnecessary. Anyway, some 30 minutes after I first started the installation I managed to get the program up and running. I am used to using video editors already so even though it was an unfamiliar interface many of my previously learnt techniques allowed me to get started quickly. If you have never used a video editor before then I would suggest watching the introduction video. The program is surprisingly fully featured considering the price level, which is great for anyone hoping to do a little more than the most basic of basics. I found the tool tips which appear whenever you mouseover any of the buttons to be a useful feature. One aspect I did find a little odd is that the play button once activated defaults to stop rather than pause. I am used to the pause function being there and I do miss it. The stop wouldnt be quite so bad if it stopped the video at that point but it doesnt. It reverts to the start of the movie. The program for me was very stable. I did not experience any glitches or crashes which some reviewers had mentioned. I am using the latest version of 64-bit Windows 11 on a desktop. The desktop is running an i7 processor with 48GB of RAM and an Nvidia GPU along with a 4K monitor. The minimum system requirements are given on the listing and are surprisingly low for such a fully featured editor. I am sure that I still have a lot to learn as regards everything that this editor can do but anyone with a little experience will be able to produce an acceptable video fairly quickly. It is also possible to upload your movie to YouTube or Vimeo from within the program. Overall, I am pleased with the features the editor has and I will continue to use this and learn its in and outs. For the asking price, this is a very comprehensive editor. I do wish it was faster to install and that they would do away with having to play with two long alphanumeric codes.

I was impressed with the entire editing suite youd pay a lot for this on a pro level and you get a lot of the same features and expansion options here. It makes movie files for you in short order you can use your own source materials it gives you options for bringing in stock footage or slides you can do kind of like PowerPoint but the new version of. It reminded me heavily of paint shop Pro which is my personal preference over Photoshop and stuff like that I have always been a PSP fan for photo editing and such for at least a decade now I started out waiting to be getting and I noticed while not made by the same company the format the feel of the menuing system and everything else is really close which is great because then you can use both of those programs in tandem and not go from one interface totally to something different you can keep that continuity between them. It does come with everything you need in the kit itself the license is what you really after but it does give you options for downloading or installing it although most of us dont have cds/dvds anymore in our equipment or even in our laptops, this will easily come down under your unit and let you get at it right away. If you have that kind of a rig setup. It doesnt seem to tax memory heavily for its processing but obviously the better rig you have the better machine youre using the faster the results youre going to end up seeing at the very end but very nice video software suite.
