MAGIX Music Maker 2016 Live

Ordering the 2015 one also.

There is a reason why the box edition (no disc – card with download instructions only) is $27 while the regular download is $99. It does not include the 4 Premium Soundpools that are advertised on the product box (only the 6 Standard Soundpools get installed). Magix customer service says it refers to a couple of samples in the “live” application, but that’s just damage control. Those are not Soundpool sets.

When I was offered this software to tryout and write a review for, I at first wasnt going to take them up on the offer. Ive had some experience with a couple previous versions of Magixs music software (Music Studio 5 & 7) and for reasons I dont remember never made much use of them. But Im glad I did accept the offer. I dont know if my attitude has changed or that the software is just that much better than before (probably a combination of the two). I will say this after having tried this software, if I hadnt gotten a free copy of it I would have gladly paid for it.

* Installation & Registration

I want to say this is a 5 star mid-tier music mixing and mastering program, but I cant. One of the bundled programs (the registry cleaner) took a chunk out of my WIndows and I had to revert back to my last back up to restore my PC to a working state. DO NOT INSTALL any other bundled programs like SImpliclean!

I asked for PC Disk.... I received a empty box with a online download if u wanted just to download it i wouldnt of wasted my time and money on the PC DISK. Version i am NOT a happy customer

Ive been using this app for a couple of days now. Ill say at the outset that Im working on a machine with an I7 Processor and 16GB Ram, so my machine can easily handle the demands of this application. What Ive found is a very easy to use and remarkably powerful recording application. Its terrific for making background tracks for tutorials and home videos. There is an enormous library of pre-made sounds to choose from which can be added to tracks with a simple drag and drop. Once added, you can split audio objects, change pitch and tempo, and custom fit them to your needs. In addition you can set up your keypad to work as a keyboard, or if you have an electronic keyboard use that to play music. If you are a singer or a player yourself, you can connect your guitar, vocal mic, or other instrument to your computer and record live sounds as well.

Its fun to play with and its pretty easy to create techno style music with it. I like that its really meant to be played with in real time. But it is unstable/crashes rather regularly. And I have a strong workstation system with 16GB of ram and a Quadro video card. I definately wouldnt use it for live play because of the stability issues. Ive used a Sony program before, and while I think this Music Maker has some interesting features which I could like over the Sony, the stability of the Sony software keeps me with that product.

I cant believe this is still being advertised and sold!!! Its buggy as hell and customer service fell off the edge of earth! Magix Music maker was always my favorite and had unbelievable potential to be the best! So dont know what happened to the Magix team! If you recorded music from earlier versions, dont expect them to work with the updates or the Updated windows version Windows 10. Ive lost 100s of songs because of these bugs and there is NO response from Customer service...and no news about any updates for Magix Music maker Premium 2016. Forget LIVE, its buggy as well!

Im a novice at this music creation business. Ive looking for software for creating my own music, NOT just mix together some prerecorded loops. Im thrilled that MAGIX Music Maker allows me to do precisely that.
