Its bright but I dont think last for as long as it reports. Also, Im still not sure if it charges the batteries when its plugged in but it should!

I first purchased the lower priced Makita DML81 with one 18 volt with full power of 3000 Lumens (equivalent to two 100 watt incandescent bulbs) for about $170 on Amazon, and it was not bright enough, so I sent it back. I then purchased this more expensive Makita DML809 model at 10,000 Lumens requiring two 18 volt batteries for about $80 more, and it was so much better. It seems to be very well made, and a fan comes on when the unit is running hot. This is the brightest light (requires two 18 volt batteries) that I could find on the market running on battery power, and it is still not super bright. For example, I have a very well lit 20 ft X 30 ft work shop with probably 30 florescent T8 lights (at about 30,000 lumens), and if I had a power outage, I would need to buy two more of these Makita 10,000 lumens lights to equal my shop lights brightness. Dont be afraid to move up to 10,000 lumens output with this light, because I think you will not at all say it is too bright. You will almost always want more light. It is like a closet, you always fill it up and need more space. For abut $80 more you get over three times the brightness over the lower priced Makita model DML81, and you will be glad you did in my opinion. You can always turn down the brightness level if you do not need it, but I always end up using mine on full power 10,000 lumens 95% of the time, and wish I had a little more. I think this is the best light available for todays technology. It comes with a power cord that you can plug it into the wall AC outlet if you do not need it on battery power. I really find this light so useful and handy on so many things I use to do in the dark or very dim light.

Very high quality. The brightness is insane! I love the cordless capability and have no complaints with it at all. Bought (2) for my construction company and they hold up very well.

I have 2 Milwaukee LED food lights which I love.. I bought this to add to my LED work light colllection… very bright , glad I bough the diffuser .. only real issues is the light itself is just so heavy.. did not expect that at all.

Super bright, versatile light - great for painting, lighting up a crawl space or construction. With two batteries it’s heavy, but with that comes stability. I like that you can also plug this light into an outlet. I looked at the 40v version, but you can’t plug it in - it’s battery only. I generally don’t use the light on full power for extended periods so battery life has been good. For me this light has been great.

Very Bright, Very Handy, Yes Pricey, BUT.. If your vested in the 18v system and you need a light dont think twice. Even Great for working on vehicles.. Instead of just getting that trouble light in that perfect position just set this light up and your well lite!
