If youve already bought into the Manfrotto RC2 quick release system, these are a no-brainer! I keep these on all my cameras so theyll be ready to mount on my RC2-enabled tripod, monopod and franken-pod (Manfrotto Magic Clamp w/adjustable arms).

Fits perfectly, and was acurately described. I wasnt sure what I was going to do when I lost my original, but this item fit the bill perfectly!

Notes:

Although the quick release goes on my 3130 head, there is some free play from side to side. Its apparent it should be bigger. Not a huge issue but its obvious this design is a universal fitting instead of the original. After the fact, I came across a quick release that fits better than the Manfrotto original.

I dont have any large format cameras, so this plate stays out of the way and has never failed me. If you have multiple cameras, you owe it to yourself to have a couple of these so you arent swapping them out.

I use a Velbon carbon-fiber tripod but mount a Manfrotto/Bogen QR tripod head on it. I primarily use a 4/3 (MFT) camera system and have three cameras in the system. The QR plate is just the right size not to overlap the camera base when working. That includes the cameras with, and without, the extended battery packs. I use this same tripod on the gun range to mount my spotting scope with a 1/4in thread. The scope uses the QR Manfrotto base plate and it works beautifully. I have used this system for many years and couldnt be happier with the quality or function of the Manfrotto QR base plate. It is an inexpensive addition to a solid tripod system and works perfectly, and safely, every time.
