Melissa & Doug Wooden Train Cars (8 pcs) - Magnetic Train, Wooden Train Toys, Train Sets For Toddlers And Kids Ages 3+

This was a gift for my 2 year old great nephew for Christmas. As soon as he saw it he immediately forgot everything else and wanted his mom to open it up for him to play. Great case for storage also.

This is by far the best purchase for my 2 yr old toddler, he loves this trainset and plays with it for hours. The house is so much more cleaner lol because he no longer plays with his other toys. 10 out of 10. Wish I purchased this sooner.

These are really well made. BUT they tip over way too easy. They’re top heavy and curves take them out with ease. Be prepared to have an extremely frustrated toddler if you buy these. If you’ve already bought them and going through this frustration with your tiny human I have taught mine how to use his fire truck to respond to the derailments. It’s helped immensely.

My grandson loves the train cars! They are colorful and can be put away in the sturdy wooden box that they come in.

I usually love Melissa and Doug items, Ive bought from them a few times, and these trains look really nice and are put together well. But these train cars are about twice as tall as most standard little magnetic train cars and easily fall off the track when my 3-year-old plays with it, especially when trying to push it up Bridges or going around little corners. He has other smaller train cars that work fine, and these seem really nice, they just keep falling off the track and Im just watching my son get frustrated over it.

The box the train arrives in has 9 slots but only 8 trains. Disappointed by this as it looks like one is missing when you put them back. My toddler keeps asking for the train that goes in the empty slot. Seems like this was just a way to cut corners to save money by the company. Good quality toy though.. just wish the magnets were stronger.

As a speech therapist, I love this toy! It is perfect to use with multiples students to address their goals. It is easy to clean/sanitize, holds up well, and is extremely engaging.

These painted wooden train cars were a gift for my preschool son and have held up well in play with his other wooden train set cars and track (Battat, IKEA, and Melissa and Doug). He is not always super gentle so the pieces must be durable. The designs are more detailed than some of his other train cars, so I would definitely consider gifting the set to another child.

I really like this toy, but why are there 8 pieces in a container with 9 spots..? It just bugs me and my son always thinks one is missing. Otherwise I love this train set!
