> 3 dayI bought this dictionary for my 2nd grader after an assignment to define spelling words. The definitions are simple and concise, making it a perfect book for my daughter. Some pictures as well to help make connections.

> 3 dayMy daughter (7 years old) loves reading this. Sometimes she’ll sneak it to bed with her or get up and grab it. I can think of much worse things to get frustrated about. Rate it between easy and moderate. Depends on the person.

Greater than one weekSent this to my niece and she seriously had no intentions of using it. Just commented that her teacher had one just like it. My sister had her use it while writing a paper. Glad to report its helped so much that my sister noticed shed been packing it in her bookbag. Love that shes not only seeing proper spelling of words (which she struggles with) but also tense and synonyms. Id love to know why using a dictionary isnt taught or recommended in grade school, but in the meantime, im on a hunt for something pocket sized for that bookbag.

> 3 dayPerfect reference tool. My 9 year old son loves looking up words in it and understands how to use it almost intuitively. There are synonyms, cross references, tons of pictures and it’s very easy for him to find the word he’s looking for using the guide words and color coded letters. In a lot of cases the definition is used in a sentence and there are parts of speech provided for each word that are clear and easy for kids to understand. He also uses it to help him pronounce words. Just a great tool all around.

> 3 dayI ordered this for my sons 10th birthday--his very first dictionary. I loved the concept of it being child-friendly and thought this may help him understand definitions he normally would not be able to comprehend in a regular dictionary. HE. LOVES. IT. It is so colorful and large enough to be able to clearly read it. The pictures help him understand as well, since he is very visual. Definitely a great buy and I will purchase again when my next child is around the same age!

> 3 dayI got his for my son who is in the 2nd grade. Part of his homework is looking up definitions every day. You dont need a magnified glass to read this, and it makes it more fun as it has some pictures in it. My son loves it!

> 3 dayThis is an essential item all kids should have. This has taught my daughter to do research (by taking initiative to actually look something up, rather than just Google it). Some words even have pictures that help illustrate the meaning of the word better. My daughter is 10 years old and has been using it for the last couple months since I bought it for her. I love that the pages have listed on the top corner the beginning and end words/letters for that specific page. Ive noticed other dictionaries dont have that. Shes now made it a custom of hers to automatically grab her dictionary when she doesnt understand something, rather than asking. Very good product quality - hard cover, not too heavy. We keep it in our bookcase at home.
