> 24 hourThis is the second one of these that I have owned. The first one had issues with the plates in the capacitors arcing, and many of the screws on the SO239 connectors were loose. This one has no such issues. But while examining this one as you always want to do with any MFJ product, I found that the ISO239 for coax jack #1 had never seen any solder, and the ISO239 for the transmitter was a cold solder joint. This prompted me to clean the solder from all connectors and solder them again. The power meter is generous, but this is a minor detail. I love this unit and wouldnt hesitate to purchase another to work on as always. One thing I still plan to do is use heat shrink tubing on the wires tapped to the coil. Bare wires running close to one another has never been something Ive felt confortable seeing. Oh and Im not sure what the one person was talking about that said this has a yellowed light in the meter. I pulled it and looked. The unit I got has a bright white led which lights the meter bright and clear.

> 24 hourworks beautiful on vertical antennas, able to most often get 1.2 or less. Forward power sometime falls below 100 but better than blowing my finals.

> 24 hourA good option for use with multiple antennas. Capacitors were not properly lined up and I had to readjust them. Meters were also giving slightly higher readings than actual power and swr.

> 24 hourWell, hams often say MFJ stands for Mighty Fine Junk and in this case they are right. The tuner is VERY twitchy when moving the knobs trying to tune different bands. My antenna is resonant on 20 and 40 meters, but other bands are hard to get right without a matching unit, which is why I got this tuner. My radio wont transmit if there is a mismatch greater than 3:1. Even though the MFJ says it has tuned to 1:1, the radio often sees SWR great than 3:1 and will shut off transmit. On some knob positions, when trying to tune, the needles pulse like theyre following a regular dance beat or something. This unit acts much worse than my older 945E which I moved to my QRP unit out in the shack. This was an open box return from Ham Radio Outlet, so I guess Im stuck with it. Going to open it up, clean it out and hope for the best.
