JUST A NOTE REGARDING THE MIELE BAGS in addition to the below, which still holds - GREAT BAGS and SUPREME VAC! I had to go through a full bag looking for a lost earring. Whilst searching for the earring I found two pennies that had been sucked up in the bag at some earlier time. Heres the kicker: MOST OF THE COPPER HAD BEEN LITERALLY GROUND OFF THE PENNIES!. And yet there were no leaks in the bag at all, no dirt in the motor...nothing amiss. How much grit must it have taken to file off the copper coating on those pennies and yet the bag held up 100%? Best. Bags. EVER! If you have a Miele vac, dont scrimp and buy any other bags than OEM Miele. The imitations are NOT the same in many CRITICAL ways, some of which may ruin the best vacuum out there! I tried the other non-genuine bags and had trouble with installation, blow-by on the intake causing dust and debris to go ALL OVER on the inside of the vac and into the motor. They just didnt seal properly. I bit the bullet and bought the Miele bags and will never stray from them again! They slide in, fit so well, and keep the moving parts of your vac clean and dust-free. They filter better as well with no odor coming out of the air vent-out. The size is about the same as the cheaper brand so they dont last any longer, but dirt in your motor will definitely shorten the life of your vacuum, so there is one more trade off - more expensive bags = longer life for your machine. I wont ever buy any other bag than the original Miele!

Good quality product

These work great with our Miele Vacuum but are expensive at about $5 per bag. You also get 2 filters which you really dont need to change that often so one would do. Ive tried other bags which say they fit the Miele vacuum I have, but I have yet to find one that fits well so I get these.

Several of these reviews mention that their product came in bags rather than branded boxes. The ones I ordered are exactly as described in Miele branded boxes.

I read that if you are vacuuming up pet hair it can take up much of the bag very quickly. I try to manually remove the pet hair that accumulates on the suction tool before it is sucked into the bag to maximize the capacity of the bag. It still seems to fill up relatively quickly. However- what is the alternative? The Miele vacuum has incredible suction power. I love it - especially for antique Persian rugs.
