Greater than one weekI have this plugged into the outlet at the side of my garage to control the landscape lighting. I got it configured with Smartthings easily enough but every week or so it has gone offline to where I cant control it in the app and so I have to go out and try to re-add it again. Hopefully these are initial teething problems that stop occurring.

> 3 dayI was able to pair this plug to my SmartThings hub when placed in close proximity. However, once I placed it in my backyard there was no connectivity. I then added 2 z-wave smart plugs nearby to act as repeaters, and connection was very spotty. Id say on/off commands would register only 20% of the time. On/off status was incorrect most of the time too. I placed an Enlighten/GE outdoor z-wave plug in the same location, and have no issues. Im sending the Minoston back

08-06-2025Things I loved: The outdoor rating and energy monitoring capabilities. Compact size for outdoor unit Things I am disappointed by: It didnt make it 6 months before dying. It randomly was turning off, and now it turns off immediately after turning on. Product range was not as good as other zwave devices. It would occasionally completely lose contact with my hub Difficult pairing in smartthings Despite installation at the end of 2022, no Edge driver in smartthings

> 3 dayI purchased this after going against the 1 star reviews as I have used a huge verity of Z-wave devices with my Alarm.com Z-wave module and like to try out whatever is available on the market. I cant say this enough : Read the instructions! SO many bad reviews from people who just did not read how to use this device. Unlike many other z-wave outlets, there is actually a slightly different method to setup. Rather than just a button push during enrolling, there is a button long press to get into learn mode on the device. Once in learn mode, I strongly recommend putting your hub/bridge/gateway/z-wave receiver into DELETE mode and letting it run through the cycle (this is recommended for ALL z-wave devices during initial setup). This sets the device back to factory and removes any potential binding information from when it was tested at the factory. THEN repeat the process and go into LEARN mode for your z-wave receiver. After adding this device from about 10 feet away, I left it about 60 seconds, manually switched the on-board switch on and off a couple of times and then relocated it to its final position around 20 feet away outside. I have it controlling string lights and a bug zapper. It works just as quickly as any of my GE/Jasco/Linear/Aeotec Z-wave devices and is a decent price. I have ordered more as I have not had any issues with this device and the price is right.

> 3 dayFor some reason, this switch seems to turn off by itself in high-current situations. The switch is rated to 15A, and I have a device that can draw ~10.6A continuous. There is an over-current, over-voltage, and over-load metrics that also come from the switch, but none of them are triggered when this happens. If it isnt 15A, dont call it 15A. It seems to hardly handle 10A.

Greater than one weekI am using this smart plug to control my patio lights through Amazon Alexa. Very easy to connect to my SmartThings Hub using the SmartThings App on my phone and pressing the button on the smart plug 3 times. Alexa discovered the new device immediately. It is about 30 feet from the hub and about 15 feet from another Z-wave switch. Like the flat angled plug as it does not block the other outlet where it is plugged in. Easy setup, weatherproof, good value, and works as expected.

> 3 dayNeeded an outdoor z-wave outlet to power a set of string lights. Naturally i looked for the cheapest, since everything z-wave is still expensive and came across this guy. Worked great using a generic driver in Hubitat, but ended up reaching out to support with a few issues i had and they sent me a link to their gethub page with their drivers. Fixed my problem.
