No need to review the accuracy of the product. It is indisputable that Mitutoyo is one of the best brands for this type of instruments. Im rebuilding a German engine and specs are to the tenth thousands of an inch. I tried first to measure my engine with a very economical set but right off the box I had issues with several aspects of the set, from stickers pealing off thebox, scratched components, no instructions, inaccurate calibrating standards, to micros unable to calibrate. So I decided to order this brand instead for three micros that I need. Way out of my initial budget expectations but now I can rely on my measurements. The box came in mint condition with the micro in a sealed plastic bag, the calibrating standard came with a protective dipped like plastic ends which makes the storage and protection against rust and damage ideal. The level of detail and accuracy of the sleeve and thimble is quite crisp. The way the standard aligns with the Anvil and Spindle for calibration gives you an added level of confidence that your measurement will be as accurate as your attention for detail. It is a pricey instrument but now I know what have in my tool box.

Purchase to complete my set of micrometers

This micrometer works great as it should and features ratchet for accurate measuring. I recommend purchasing here. Much cheaper than the tool supply stores.

Use this for harley piston measurements, T-gauges and dial bore. Its from Japan, you dont get much better than that.

Im a huge fan of Mitutoyos quality, and pretty much use them exclusively. Great accuracy right out of the box, feels great in the hand, and has a very reasonable price tag.
