Really cant go wrong with Monoprice cables - been using them for years (ordered either directly through Monoprice or Amazon), and never had issues. They are affordable, but good quality.

Decent wire for the price. Appears more like 16 gauge than 14 gauge....and being a retired engineer who has worked with a LOT of wire...thats what it appears to me. Wish I would have ordered the 12 gauge but, due to time constraints, didnt have the time to return. But it will suffice for what I needed it for, i.e., apprx. 30 ft. run up the wall and into the attic for ceiling surround sound speakers.

This speaker wire is rated to be installed in walls and the attic. Its important for fire safety reasons. When buying speaker wire, you need to ensure you get the right gauge wire for the distance you are running between amp and speaker. I chose this one at 14 AWG where 16 AWG may have worked, but I like safety margins. Due to the CL2 rating, the case around the wires is a little tough to cut so you can get to the wires. But thats to be expected. It was easy to run and worked well for my install. Highly recommend white if you are going to install speakers on a wall. They have black as well.

Just opened this package to install it and discovered that they sent me 50 FT single conductor coaxial cable. NOT what I ordered. Package says its 14 AWG load speaker cable but cable itself is labeled coaxial. I cut it to install my speakers and discovered single conductor. AVOID!

It works well, and looks much cooler than monster cable or lamp wire.
