I learned to leave it on while in the car because it kept the sun out of my babys eyes as he is rear-facing for the next 2 years. Now that he is older, he doesnt like to have it on the carrier in the car, but its great to keep the wind out of his face for the trips into the store or to pick up my older child. Easy to put on, too. The material is stretchy and soft. I just love the pattern, too.
