Im not sure how I worked without this tool for so long. It is great for cutting holes in gaskets, grommets and cardboard. I have no complaints.

I bought this to make misc lawn mower gaskets. I have another set to punch the very small holes. It seems I always need a Honda gasket when working n someones Honda mower, and the ones I repair and donate to people in need. I bought a roll of quality gasket material for about 6 bucks. I can make dozens and dozens with that roll. A Honda lawnmower gasket set is about $5 per set...this paid for itself quickly with the many projects I have used it for already. It is a solid, quality tool, and works well so far.

Decent product for cutting leather and hair-on cowhide. Centering pin is removable (which maybe should have been obvious to me, but I was still excited to find out). The smaller punches seem much sharper than the bigger ones -I learned that I only need ONE hit for the 10mm blade, but SEVERAL for the 32mm blade- but it could just be that greater force is required for a greater circumference. The container they come in isn’t super well made -mine came kind of broken on the inside and one of the latches doesn’t function properly- but the tool itself wasn’t broken, is still protected, and works well for me. Also, the threading between the punches and the base is kind of loose; that doesn’t bother me personally, but just know that you might have to tighten your blade down a bit after every time you cut something out. LOVE that it comes with almost all of the sizes I need; my alternative was buying far fewer punches from several different places for a bit more money, so this was ultimately a good buy for my purposes.

The design makes it easy to make a hole exactly where you want it. I use it to install valves in SCUBA dry suits. I cant make a mistake. This allows me to punch a precise hole that remains water proof.

The main reason I gave this kit 3 stars is the sellers misleading or untrue statements. For example, the description says this is rust resistant--but it doesnt appear to be rust resistant at all. Mine came with a slight sheen of rust on every piece that mostly rubbed off with a cloth and gun oil. The edges are not as sharp as you would want them, with some small chips in the edge visible to the naked eye. Fit and finish is rough, with surfaces that should be polished and edges that should be ground down being rough or sharp--small dents and scraps all over the handle. Lastly, whatever coating they put on this steel is so thin you can see through it, which is probably why it rusted some. There was a lightweight oil all over the inside of the case, but it was so light it appears to have just run off the parts instead of sticking and preventing corrosion. Oh, and the case is extremely weak and flimsy, the hinges and latches barely holding the lid closed. Having said that, you cant find a cheaper set of gasket punches, anywhere, and if you are handy they work just fine. Clean them up, sharpen them on a lathe or drill to remove chips and get them razor sharp. Apply a little gun blueing or paint to prevent corrosion, and sand or file down sharp edges on the center punch so it actuates smootly. Speaking of the centering pin--its too short to work on my kit. The tip of the pin doesnt extend past the edfe of the blades, so you cant set the pin on a marking to center your circle. Fixing this can be done in several ways, but the best way is to just drill a new hole about a half to a quarter inch closer to the blade side end of the handle. Re-thread the hole and add a set screw and now your pin will extend past the edge of your blade, but retract into the handle as you use the punch. At the time of this writting all I have done is remove the tool, examine and clean the parts, an write this review. I dont know how well they will last, or how often I will have to sharpen them. I can however tell anyone unfamiliar with punches that you NEED a proper cutting surface to use your punches on, or you WILL dull or wreck your cutters in short order. Good luck!

Ive only used two of the punches so far, but all of them are machined quite well and sharp. With the two I have used, Ive punched thousands of holes in tooling copper and aluminum cans. Ive used some scrap rubber as a backing material while punching. With all of that, the top of the universal striker for the punches has some mushrooming, but the punches themselves are as sharp as ever. Depending on how you use them and the care you take, these punches are well made and will last for ages.

Granted, I had a very specific use for this tool, but it did the job so well, Im extremely happy with the price paid and the quality of the tool. Its heavy and sturdy and sharp and cut right through Wood! I needed a 3/8 hollow hole punch to make my own Wood Veneer screw hole plugs. So I was looking for something that would NOT damage the punched out hole piece- because that was the piece I wanted to keep. I did NOT want the needle point piercing the center so I simply unscrewed the tip a bit and added a metal washer disc to create the gap I needed. I re-built old salvaged wood doors and I had to build a new door jamb to adjust to the smaller door size, which I wood-stained as opposed to painting. And since I needed to remove the jamb often to readjust, I fastened using removable screws, not permanent nails. Then I countersunk the screw heads and left room for a veneer wood hole plug. I bought the veneer wood at Hobby Lobby and placed it under warm water for a few seconds to soften it a bit and protect the wood from splintering during the cutting process. Then I tapped the tool with a soft mallet and Voila!! 20 perfect hole covers in minutes! After staining and sealing, they blend right in. I LOVE this tool! Lowes sells the same exact set but under a different brand name for Way more. Totally worth the money.

Ive had several different styles of these hole punches and this is my favorite because of the little spring loaded line up nail in the center. It pushes the rubber right out after you punch the hole. All my other punches I have to use a screwdriver to get the rubber out of the punch. The negative is, the punches are pretty thin metal and it doesnt come with as many sizes as other kits; however, I havent had any problems with it and none of the punches have gotten egged or bent. Most importantly for me, this sucker is CHEAP! Price point is always a HUGE factor for me. So overall, I highly recommend this product and will definitely purchase more kits in the future. Also, I use it for 5/8 inch gasket material and havent had any issues with knocking out holes

NEIKO 02614A Interchangeable Large Hollow Hole Punch Set | 10 Piece | Heavy Duty... : This is the second time in about a year that Ive received used merch from Amazon and there was no indication on the product page that that was the case. Not a good trend. As to the punch, there is no real sign that it was used except what looked like shipping damage to the container, but nothing to damage the tools. It works very well. I bought it to punch new holes in the filters for my mask since Ive replaced the holders with larger ones. This thing has no trouble at all punching though 10 layers of filter. Clean too!. (two sides of 5 layer mask at once). I am quite sure this would have no trouble at all punching through leather.
