    These have been staple for years. You cant get any better than this. For folks out there that are new to networking, you actually want one of these switches, compared to a hub, because switches will streamline your network and make it run more smoothly. When you use a hub, the IP packets will collide and the QOS services of your network card will be doing overtime to get your data to the next target. Switches analyse these packets and deliver them out the proper port to the actual destination. I can highly recommend these to anyone building their professional or home network!

    I travel often at work and wanted a router thats small and durable. I did have a travel router, that was packaged real nice with retractable power prongs, but it was plastic and didnt keep up with the abuse in my work bag. This NetGear model was in a metal case and feels really durable.

    Ill summarize the performance in one word: delightful. If you need Gigabit speeds, search for a different product. Personally, Im using these NetGear switches with Asoka PlugLink 9650s and I couldnt be much happier. A couple of these switches and a HomePlug system is sweet! Now, Ill just have to wait for HomePlug AV2 equipment with Gigabit speeds so I can buy newer, faster switches ... ;)

    Simple Setup and Stellar Performance
    Plug in your Ethernet cables and connect a power cord, and you"re ready to go. There is no software to install or settings to configure. The switch features auto negotiation, which automatically obtains the fastest possible connection, and Auto Uplink takes care of the MDI/MDI-X connection. There are no toggle switches or special crossover cables. If your network has existing 10BASE-T devices, they will work seamlessly within a higher bandwidth environment with each port achieving its full speed.
