Nite Ize - LSB4-01-R3 LSB4-11-R3 S-Biner Slide Lock Carabiner, Black, #4

Love these! I lost my last one that I purchased at REI due to not locking it. Purchasing this because it is difficult for little fingers to unlock!

Bought this clip to hold a huge key ring (50+ keys) on my belt for my job, and Ive gotta say Im impressed. Ive been using this for a few months now, usually one night a week for three hours of walking, and the paint on the inside of the clip is starting to rub off, but its doing so in a very controlled manner. Its not chipping off, its slowly being rubbed down to smooth shiny metal, which is probably the best way one of these things can experience wear and tear (where a cheap clip might just start flaking its paint, or might not even keep its shape- 50+ keys swinging from your hip is a lot to ask for from any little clip). The locks are a nice feature and I can see how others would use them, but I personally dont use them, and find they get in the way more often than not for how Im using this. Overall, its a great S-Clip, and feels very sturdy. Certainly a 5-star design and manufacturing job from Nite Ize.

Extremely useful.

The wife bought these to walk the dog and attach the leach to her jeans belt loop. They work well for that purpose.

does what its supposed to do the thing i like about it is you can lock the side that your keys are on and dont have to worry about your keys coming off and losing them

The lock feature is great - easy to use and hook many things as and where needed.

What an improvement over a typical S-Binder and long over due. A simple, easy to operate mechanism locks both slides of the clip individually. I love it!!

good quality material. only problem is the locking mechanism doesnt stay locked. when the carabiner is in your pocket, the plastic tab can be pushed out of the locking position. i had my keys drop on the ground when removing the carabiner from my pocket. Im still using this with a workaround I cam up with. I used a twist tie to hold the plastic tab in place. This obviously makes it a little harder to add and remove items to the locked side, but itll do for now.

The most confusing part about these carabiners is figuring out their size. Nite Ize could have posted a table of their dimensions instead of comparison of size with different objects. Anyhow, the number associated with the part (in this case, #4), as far as I figured out from the internet sources, it is (approximately?) equal to rounded to a whole number height of the carabiner in inches. Of course, it sizing is most likely based on metric values, so any correlation to size in inches is accidental. Anyhow, #4 measures 3.5 / 90 mm in height, and it is the width of the palm of my hand. My intended use is to hang my jacket and bag on pickleball court. S-biners work much better for this purpose than standard carabiners - they are very easy to clip to the fence and to clip the bag to them. For the jacket, it is a perfect size, for the bag, with its wider handle, I ordered a larger size. For a water bottle, it may also be a little too small - the next size up might work better.
