> 3 dayWhat you have to understand is Noctua parts are an investment that will pay for itself over time. I bought my NH-U12S over 6 years ago, and its been used as my cooler in 3 different PCs. All with different sockets. Every time I upgraded my PC, I emailed Noctua my proof of purchase and they sent me a complimentary mounting kit for the appropriate socket. You can also buy those online for a modest cost. Installation is easy and fool proof. The performance and quality of their coolers is top of the line. I could have bough a slightly cheaper cooler that would have done the job, but then I would not have had the flexibility of using that cooler on three different sockets. Noctuas engineering is honest and reliable. After years of service, my cooler ended up saving me money, while getting top notch performance and the best service in the industry. I dont care about brightly lit fans, I want performance, reliability, build quality and QUIET.

> 3 dayReplaced my loud stock AMD Ryzen 5 cpu fan with this one and boy is it quiet! When I first installed it, I honestly was wondering if the computer was on--thats how quiet it is. Keeps temps below 60 F even when using multiple apps. Great buy for a good price.

> 3 dayCame from a Scythe Mugen 5 rev. B which I replaced for aesthetic reasons. This much more compact heat sink actually cools my 3700x (4.2 ghz, 1.325V) much better. Temps peak at 76C in AIDA when they used to barely break 80C on the Mugen. Noctua’s quality can’t be beat, and you can rest easy knowing it outperforms other air coolers in the same price range.

> 3 dayI bought this to put on an Intel Core i9-10850 CPU. Reviewers online talked about this CPU running really hot so I wasnt sure this air cooler would be enough. I figured that if this setup didnt work, then I could add 2nd Noctua fan. When I first installed it, I noticed that the fan wasnt turning. I checked the connection and the fan profile in the BIOS. All was fine. The fan didnt come on until I ran the stress test in CPU-Z. After running anything CPU intensive the fan would turn off almost immediately. I monitored CPU activity and it would run 4.8Ghz all cores with one or 2 jumping to 5.2 periodically. The CPU temps would be in the mid-70s to low-80s c, never hitting near its thermal max. After stressing it, the temps would drop back to the 40s. This was all done in a room with the ambient temps in the low 70s f.
