O-Cedar EasyWring Spin Mop Microfiber Refill, White Packaging May Vary

I received the product on the left yesterday. It does not look like the O-Cedar mop heads that I currently have, and it arrived in this black and white packaging. I ordered the mop head on the right today and this is the packaging it arrived in. The one on the right, orders from the Amazon O-cedar shop, looks legit. Returning the suspected fakes.

I have not used the refill yet but the mop does a wonderful job on a variety of surfaces. The spin mop does not drip water on the floor and it does a great job in cleaning and rinsing out. The Mop head is easy to change, just stand on the mop and pull the handle up, it pops right off. Place the refill on the floor and press the mop handle down on it and presto, the head is changed. I like not having to handle the mop head at all. Dip in in the bucked and spin it out, use it and get it dirty and then dip and spin it out again. If it gets too dirty to spin clean, it can be cleaned in the washer. Great product.

TL/DR: The current EasyWring refills arent as good as what may have come with your current mop, and Ill buy generic going forward unless someone upgrades the fiber in the mop head. I agree with other reviews stating that these refills are markedly different from the original mop head that came with my O-Cedar EasyWring. The new mop head picks up dirt very well but it does shed to a degree that the original did not, creating more debris to clean up. Although I wash it in a delicates bag on cold/permanent press setting, I can see that it wont hold up for as many trips through the wash. (Word to the wise: no dryer on any of these mop heads!) This new mop head is microfiber, and really I suspect the original was as well. The difference: on the new head, each fat mopping strand is basically a compressed length of microfiber poof. (Yeah, thats a scientifc term.) On the old, I could tease that strand apart into plys, and just as with sweater yarn or rope, plying creates a different texture and lends strength. Its also probably more expensive to produce. I should also add that for all I know the mop head that comes with the current starter kit is the newer, downgraded kind. It would be a shame (can think of some harsher words, but well leave it at that) if the manufacturer packaged with your new mop system a mop head better than any replacement you can currently get with the product. Ive looked at a number of listings for knockoff replacement mo pheads and as far as I can tell, they are all the cheaper non-plied microfiber. The best you can do with any 3rd party refills for whatever is watch the reviews to see what the quality has been reported to be over the last 3-6 months, tops, because corner-cutting can happen over time. Thats true for both compatable and OEM products. I hope that if anyone ever finds a mop head closer to the original that used to be (still is?) included with the EasyWring that they will post that information in a review here. I can work with what I have, but Id certainly pay a little more to go back to a less aggravating mop.

Love this mop and the bucket that goes with it. The bucket spins mop out as dry as you wish. Mop shape makes it easy to get into difficult areas such as corners. Easy to clean. But decided to buy spare head to have if dont have time to clean other. Highly recommend mop and bucket that goes with it. Linea

Great item. Fits perfect just like the original one that came with the mopping system. I like that these are machine washable and available at such a great price. I have ordered a few extras of these so Im able to run the dirty ones through the wash at the same time, its nice to have a couple as back ups. I also find that even rinsing it with water in between uses, it cleans up pretty nice. I know a lot of people list cons for their items.... there are not any that I can think of for this item.

This is the BEST mop I’ve ever owned. So convenient and I don’t dread mopping with this. It seems really well made and gets the hard jobs done. I have hard woods through most of our home and it does fantastic. The removable heads are cheap and easy to replace. So worth the money. If you have hard wood or tile you NEED this mop.

The microfiber is longer than before and it makes the mop skid across the floor , scratching it on places

This mop head is the perfect replacement to the original. Mops up every thing then washes clean to use again.
