XXL fit just right! Pros: Best fitting gloves I’ve ever owned. Cons: ripped after a few easy uses by web of thumb I wore them outside today (-2 Fahrenheit) and they would not keep me worm. Great for everything but extreme cold.

Everything about these gloves seemed good and dandy, upon first receiving them I did an initial quality check; yep everything seems legit, no sloppy seams, real carbon fiber and serialized, quality looking stuff. Only gripe was, the thumbs were a bit long even my larger hands, and the crotch between my thumb and forefinger was a bit snug. Despite for most everything seeming to be on the up-and-up, not into 24 hours of owning them and nothing more than some test fittings I noticed a seam popped near the wrist, likely sent from the factory like this. Fine, every massed-produced item will have its lemons, so I exchanged them for a second pair. The second pair arrived shortly and already they seemed better than the previous pair, no pre-popped seams and the thumbs fit a lot better, I assume the second pair was a later model, that had received some revisions. Great, I like these gloves, Im glad this pair is of a bit sharpened quality. So not but a day or so after owning these I decide to take them out on a field trial; -Used them for some gun-time, dexterity is great, manipulations were easy, no problem here -Shot my recurve bow, though tactile, leathers still thick enough to make bow draw a breeze -Chopped invasive shrubs with a machete, provided superb backhand protection from thorny bits, gripped very well, though palm developed a minor hotspot, the trade-off for a more tactile leather, I suppose -Off-trail running/clambering, again protected from thorns, grip held fast, though dirt and debris made it into the cinched cuff a couple times rather easily Note- knuckles can make pocket extractions somewhat difficult I returned home satisfied, the gloves had held up well and made some of my typical outdoor activities that much less painful and smooth moving, despite some minor grips of dyed black palms and a teeny tiny blister the gloves had proved an admirable addition to my gear box. So imagine my reignited displeasure when I took the gloves down from the drying rack and noticed that the thumb/forefinger crotch had popped at the seam and the leather already ripping down the palm a short bit. Super duper. Now I am somewhat adept at using a needle and thread, but I believe Oakley made it pretty clear, these are not even worth fixing. Although these gloves have been engineered for the battlefield I wouldnt even feel comfortable recommending them for anything more than the Sunday driver, but then theres better gloves for that. Excellent ideas here, but the execution is just so disappointing, save your money. **Now let me be clear I did not buy these from this seller on Amazon, I got them from a top-rated seller/business on eBay. Now, unless that Florida outdoors company is being had by a fake Oakley rep then I dont believe the gloves to be fakes.

These things really breathe, I can wear them all day without getting uncomfortable. The hard knuckles fit comfortably and seem like they’d give the upper hand in a fistfight. The so called “unobtainium” palms are grippy and haven’t started to wear out with a couple months of use.

I ordered these gloves December 2022 and after about three months of riding Im having to replace. The velcro strap on the right glove came off. The pointer finger on both gloves more so my right hand due to throttling have frayed on the inside badly. I just expected more since it was made by Oakley.

Oakley MTB Factory Pilot Gloves, Factory Pilot Gloves, SI Assault Gloves, over the years there have been three different names for the same glove which is confusing in itself. Originally the Oakley MTB Factory Pilot Gloves came out in 2003 and they were designed for mountain biking. Then they disappointedly disappeared for a while. Then Oakley slightly tweaked them and brought them back and re-marketed them as tactical gloves. My first original pair was a size Medium, then I purchased the new updated tactical model and I now fit in a size Small, identical patterning, identical fit but the sizing tag changed, once again more confusion. Good thing that Oakley now make X-Smalls, especially if you like a snug performance precision fitment. Pretty much the only difference from the 2003 MTB original model and the tactical model was that Oakley went from synthetic leather and mesh with Kevlar padding palms to full perforated goatskin leather palms, and they took out the gray thin ventilating mesh material on the sides of the fingers. I have always sworn by the Oakley Factory Pilot Gloves, loved the fit, loved the quality and you can use them for pretty much anything. They have always been 5-Star gloves, BUT as of 2019+ they now have been downgraded to 3.5-Star gloves due to Oakley, unfortunately, making a poor decision and slight redesigning and utilizing lighter weight lesser quality materials. The 2019+ model now has thinner materials throughout which are NOT going to be nearly as durable, so the gloves will NOT last as long. The Carbon Fiber knuckles are now more flat and not as ergonomic or as comfortable as the previous successful design, the perforated goatskin leather is thinner as well and so is the silicone O badge. Feel free to go read the most recent reviews and you will see the unacceptable experiences of other loyal end-users. On the new Fall 2019 model I just purchased manufactured in Vietnam, the felt foam-backed liner material underneath the finger port vents has NOT been punched out to let interior warm air flow outwards, so now finger ventilation has been compromised. And if you try to cut-out the foam liner material underneath the finger port vents you will ruin the integrity of the gloves. I turned the gloves inside-out and I was disappointed to see some areas not stitch properly or stitch at all, I havent seen a lack of craftsmanship before in all the years of wearing these gloves. The one thing I always wanted Oakley to eventually update was adding finger tabs for touchscreen devices. The 2020 Oakley Factory Pilot Gloves 2.0 version that just came out added that needed modern feature but it does not work nearly well as expected due to poor execution. Unfortunately, the 2.0 version, has a different pattern and the fingers are now a quarter-inch longer making the gloves fit poorly. The palms are of a subpar leather, also they went with a lesser quality plastic Velcro closure which will NOT last. So all in all the new 2.0 version is a completely disappointing downgrade :( So if youre happy with the standard ones you have been wearing for years stick with them! Here in 2020 I just returned the Oakley Factory Pilot Gloves 2.0 version and re-purchased my tried-and-true Oakley Factory Pilot Gloves/SI Assault Gloves, but I am NOT happy with the downgrade of the overall design and lighter weight and use of lesser quality materials :( they are not worth the $70 MSRP anymore. The Oakley Factory Pilot Gloves have now become $50-$60 gloves at best. Oakley, what happened to the higher-end SI Tactical FR Glove and SI FR Fast Rope Glove? Please bring them back, and make them more accessible to purchase. Oakley/Luxottica Designers, when something is perfect and iconic please dont mess with the successful design! Durable. Well made. Fit is a little small. Hope these last as long as my first pair!

Webbing between index finger and thumb ripping from stitching only had them for a few weeks.. barely used , have older pair that did the same thing so I got these gloves to replace them.. just disappointed , because you would think youd be getting a great pair of gloves that last longer than a few weeks for the price.. $75... Update: after making this review I purchased another pair and made a discovery!!! Ive bought and used these gloves since 2016 owned around five pairs of these during that time and have only now just noticed that unfortunately its the luck of the draw in quality of material when buying another pair of these gloves!! If both removable and non-removable tags say made in Vietnam you have the good pair!! Only my very first pair and my very last pair that I just bought had/has made in Vietnam on the tag!! To further clarify the picture of a tear in webbing of glove , are the previous pair that do not say made in Vietnam on the tag!!!

I finally caved in and bought these. The feel and quality are instantly noticeable. The knuckles are tough and the gloves itself is very comfortable and has great padding. I’ll be using these as my primary gloves. I did cut the thumb and index finger for LE purposes. Over a year later and some good use, they still look and feel like new. No tears. A damp cloth and they look great.

I expected better quality. The gloves ripped the second day I used them. Stay away!!
