Occidental Leather 9850 Adjust-to-Fit Fat

Greater than one weekIts refreshing to see there are still products made in America. Occidental leather tool bags are very well made and I am satisfied with the construction of said product. I am not however satisfied with the functionality. Very few compartments for tools that all carpenters would use regularly. The bags are stationary and cant be moved. Also the hammer holster is too small. Unless youre using a 7 tall hammer, its going to get caught when you try to pull it out. Belt (which you cannot change) is on the small side. I also bought the stronghold suspender system to go with this bag, these too were well made. BUT, the instructions said to wear them for a few days so they break in before you put rivets in them so they stay in place. What a pain. The padding was all over the place without the rivets to hold the straps in place. I didnt like wearing them for one day let alone two. Plus, I just spent $110 on suspenders that I had to finish putting together. Good products. Poor design.

> 3 dayAgain great quality material. Very stiff to adjust and not a lot of room for a Tape Holder. Its a lot of money to spend on an apron, but you get what you pay for. Im sure it will last quite a while.

> 3 dayIf you’re even looking at occidental toolbelts , it means you want the best belt made, in my opinion. Had the oxylight framer belt last for many years, everyday use, commercial and residential . Recently got fat lip( both adjustable). it’s a little bulky, but now that it’s breaking in it feels fine, really comfortable.

> 3 dayI’m a carpenter who wears this belt all day long. I’ve only worn the belt for about 3 weeks but here are my initial thoughts: The belt is well made and has lots of room in the pockets. The downside of really deep pockets is that when you sit down with the belt on (like on a slanted roof) the pockets will flip over and empty. It’s possible this could get better with time as the belt breaks in but we will see. The hammer loop catches on my pants belt every time I bend over. It’s extremely annoying. I’m looking for a pad or something that will prevent this from happening. If the hammer loop had been an inch lower it would prevent this issue. If you use Milwaukee clips on your tools and like to hang your drills and impacts from your belt you will be disappointed. The thickness of the leather around the pocket edge is too thick to safely hang the tool. The belt is made very well, high quality craftsmanship. I’m wondering if I may have gone overboard on this purchase and should have gone with a slightly smaller belt (not as deep pockets). I’d definitely buy this brand again, just probably not this model.
