> 3 dayVery unique and clever story line that helps open some sweet dialogue between children who have lost a parent (literally or metaphorically, by choice) showing that sometimes love and guidance comes from the most expecting places. My son begged me to write a review - this is our first one - but that is how good the movie is for people in this unique situation.

Greater than one weekThe 2 stars are for the great animation. But Disney isnt getting the other 3 stars because, yet again, its another needlessly sad and depressing story/ending. Oh, yeah, there was a quick homosexual reference, too.

> 3 dayThis movie was a bit silly but cute and gave me all kinds of feelings, maybe some tears. Shhh dont tell anyone. My daughter (4.5) liked it too, but she has a deadbeat dad so movies that are dad-centric can be a touchy thing for her. Overall we liked it, though! She loves magic. Id probably give it 4.5 stars but thats not possible so yeah.

> 3 dayMy kids and I were able to see this in the theater and we all loved it. Its an action packed story filled with love, magic, laughs and maybe a few tears. I would recommend it more for older kids only because I think it may be more difficult for little ones to follow the storyline. That said, its a great movie and very family friendly. Without giving away any spoilers, I will say that one of the things I really loved about the film was the message about gratitude. Being grateful for the things you have in your life is a very positive message and it has a significant presence in this film.

> 3 dayI had mixed feelings about the movie...this comes from a person that understands better than most. I watched it with my 10 year old daughter who lost her dad (my husband) three years ago to cancer. At first, I was thrown off by the dad being half there. I thought it might bother my daughter...she seemed to be saddened by it a first, but at the end she said she enjoyed some of the movie, and admitted that it did sadden her because of her own, personal experience losing her father. She did laugh a few times which was nice. I always love to hear her laugh. Also, I thought the homosexual reference they slipped in was ridiculous. The movie didnt need it, and I am not sure I understand why it was put into a childrens movie. That kind of thing should be left up to parents to teach and talk to their kids...it isnt for a kid movie to try to sneak in. Anyway, I still have mixed feelings but I do feel the brothers relationship was sweet and refreshing. The story was sweet, but some of it was odd, like the half dad (which if a child lost their dad, they might find saddening). Overall it was decent.
