It’s a nice and bright projection, and it’s quiet. I found it easier to set up then older models had been in the past. With the no interest Amazon Payments, it’s well worth the purchase.

We just replaced an optoma hd29 darbee and to be honest it had a much better picture. When the brightness is turned way down the screen is still really bright meaning the blacks arent black at all, more of a mushy gray, it seems they try to remedy really lousy black levelby upping the lumens, we set it as best we could using a Ps4, using both netflix lost in space, and YouTubes the late show with stephen colbert. So multiple sources X box as well. it just isnt crisp, and i dont mean out of focus at all i mean just kina dim. If you adjust the contrast up at all to try for a brightish picture then it washes out all the detail in the whites, and if you adjust the contrast low enough to keep details in tue whites it becomes an unnaturally dark picture, for instance the late show is filmed in a studio with professional lighting and such, when adjusted to a decent picture its about like they havr the lights dimmed 50%. We also got on YouTube and tried several different videos to set the contrast and brightness correctly and it just looks sad. Its aimed at a very decent screen,134 inches diagonal, made using carls blackout cloth. No matter how much we fiddle and fuss we just cant get it to look decent, id call it barely acceptable. And im by no means any kind of av snob. It just looks sickly. And the bulb seems bright because if we turn the contrast all the way up it gets really bright. This is super disappointing. I think our next one will b a ben q. Its not like i was expecting the world but its definitely lousy. Also optoma makes / has made hundreds of projectors so they dont seem to specialize in any one model, and there is very little support. Youd think it would come withsome sort of website to help dial it in but the website and support materials look like therefrom 1983. I really think this is a company churning out mediocre products and there isno growth or advancement, think a late 1970s Oldsmobile or buick where they didnt make it better they just did the bare minimum to meet the minimum standards. This is a sad offering. These are the best settings we found to at least get a well produced bright tv show to be tolerable. Again this feels like a very subpar product w/ exaggerated specs just to move a few units, it feels like a dying company that does a lot of everything and nothing well. We are so very disappointed. Heres our best guess for the settings Image mode - Cinema HDR - auto Wall color - off Brightness - negative 11 (-11) Contrast 2 Sharpness doesnt have anyeffect at all, seriously sharpness does nothing at all Gamma 1.8 Brilliant color 5 Color temp standard Hopefully this helps someone a little, we knew this was a budget projector but even with low expectations this still manages to disappoint. Just buy something else. This thing is unworkable. Also there was supposed to be a firmware update, to fix some of the handshake issues etc. We are convinced there is no chance of that actually happening, and were stuck with the garbage they produced. Also there isa good bit of rainbow effect,it wasnt nearly asbad withthe hd 29 darbee i had.

There are some scratches on the lens. The shape of a video is funnel-shaped and cannot be rectangle-shaped. The Keystone correction cannot change funnel-shaped to rectangle-shaped. Keystone correction cannot make funnel-shaped to rectangle-shaped. The projected image is unbalanced.

I use the projector to movies, mostly. Even with some clarity from window, the images are clear.

It was a great projector for the 37 days it lasted. The bulb blew out in the middle of a game. It’s rated for 10,000 hrs I think. We haven’t even had it for anywhere near that long. Contacted Amazon support and they won’t do anything because it’s 7 days outside the return window. $800 for 37 days of use, and now we have to deal with the hassle of a manufacturer warranty claim. My advice to all of you, pick another brand that is more durable, and buy from a local shop that will stand behind their products with good service. Wish we had done that.

I have not yet had the opportunity to use the remote yet but the projector turned out great. I got it to use for movies outdoors and am not disappointed. We hooked up some large speakers and it was just like you were at the drive in.

We had an Epson projector in our last movie room but it would stop working then you had to clear it to start working again, we decided to try this brand, I bought it and cancelled the order 3 times because of unclear reviews. This projector is amazing, very clear, easy to set up, does games, movies without any lag like the Epson. If definitely recommend this projector.

This projector appeared highly rated, but it is actually a plastic featureless junk of junk. The glass bulb in my epson 2045 blew out mere days before Christmas leaving glass dust throughout the inside. With no time I ordered this so we had something in time to use on Christmas. It came in the thin retail package with a label on it. Shoe boxes are thicker. I dont know if was damaged as a result, but the keystone adjustment is useless. All the settings are fake and clip the image rather than actually adjust. Its a bloody nightmare for the near grand I paid. Never again. Have had three Epsons in the past 15 years, and Ill never try anything else. Dont waste your time.
